1 The rationale of the research
The trend of globalization has been creating a wave of growth and development
in the world economy in recent years, including Vietnam However, the prolonged impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical events have posed significant challenges for domestic organizations and businesses, especially in the banking industry This has generated threats and intense competitive pressures for banks industry during this period, which has already been very fierce
As a result, human resources are seen as the core value and competitive edge for banking industry to growth and development in this period, especially in the current context of financial and economic fluctuations Therefore, all leaders care and prioritize human resources at the top of the organization, especially employee performance appraisal Owing to the importance and urgency of this issue, the Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank — MSB Khanh Hoa in particular, and the headquarters in general, have focused on employee performance appraisal to establish, implement, and manage performance of their employees scientifically and effectively to boost their motivation and performance, thereby, achieving strategic objectives of the bank However, there are still some issues existing in the Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank during the process of employee performance appraisal, affecting human resource management, employee productivity, and the ability to accomplish their individual goals and the strategic objectives of MSB bank
Reconizing the necessity of employee performance appraisal and current state off the organization, the graduation thesis topic "Completing employee performance appraisal in Credit department of Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Khanh Hoa branch (MSB Khanh Hoa)" was selected for research to evaluate and analyze the issues existing in employee performance appraisal in the period of 2021-2023, thereby, proposing solutions to improve and enhance employee performance appraisal
at MSB bank in the next period

General objective
The general objective of the graduation thesis "Completing employee performance appraisal in Credit department of Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Khanh Hoa Branch (MSB Khanh Hoa)" is to propose solutions to improve and enhance the effectiveness of employee performance appraisal at Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Khanh Hoa Branch (MSB Khanh Hoa)
Specific objectives
The graduation thesis researches on the theoretical foundation and methodology
of employee performance appraisal and application of these theories to the thesis to analyze the current state of employee performance appraisal at the bank
The graduation thesis evaluates the current state of employee performance appraisal in credir department of Maritime Bank — MSB Khanh Hoa during the period
of 2021-2023, thereby identifying achievements, shortcomings and limitations and determining their causes
The graduation thesis also proposes solutions to improve and enhance the effectiveness of employee performance appraisal in credit department of Maritime Bank — MSB Khanh Hoa
Research content
The research studies and analyzes on the current situations of employee performance appraisal in credit department of Maritime Bank — MSB Khanh Hoa in the period of 2021-2023 Additionally, it refers to how MSB bank evaluate their employee through its employee performance appraisal system, and which criterias, processes, objects and cycle are used to evaluate employee performance at the Maritime Bank, and identifying factors influence the employee performance appraisal
at the bank

Finally, the research would propose some feasible solutions supposed to improve and enhance the effectiveness of employee performance appraisal in credit department of MSB bank in the next periods

The graduation thesis research on performance appraisal of employees in credit department of Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank — MSB Khanh Hoa Scope of research
In terms of time, the graduation thesis focuses on researching data collected from the period of 2021 to 2023 of the Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Khanh Hoa branch In addition, the study also conducts the collection of primary data gathered through survey questionnaires and in-depth interviews from March to April

In term of space, the graduation thesis focuses on evaluating the performance of employees in credit departments of Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Khanh Hoa branch (MSB Khanh Hoa)
In terms of content, the graduation thesis will study the current situation of performance appraisal of employees at Maritime Commercial Jomt Stock Bank, to identify strengths, weaknesses, and causes in order to propose feasible solutions to improve and enhance the performance appraisal system of MSB bank
4 Research methodology
The thesis uses statistical research methods, synthesis, and analysis from secondary sources of information In addition, the thesis also applies survey methods with the target of investigation being the employees at MSB Khanh Hoa and is directly surveyed through opinion surveys and analysis of the data

Primary data: Primary data is collected from survey questionnaires and in- depth interviews with employees including both superiors and subodinates in credit department regarding the employee performance appraisal of Maritime Commercial Joint Stock bank — MSB Khanh Hoa
