local, submitting plagiarized assignments What solution (or solutions) would you suggest to the university’s board to help solve this issue?

We use brainstorming because brainstorms are a way to you present your idea and solutions related to problem We usually use it when we work in group or you can do it independently

To start with, you need to find the sheet of paper and you have to to make sure it clean and unused Affter that you write down your ideas but that are the key word This motivate you think many other sides of problem and find the good way to solving the problem

After applying the brainstorming strategy, I asked the following questions: What is plagiarism? What is the current situation? What are the causes

of plagiarism? And what are the solutions to combat plagiarism? Plagiarism is the act of copying and using someone else's information and ideas and claiming them as your own According to UNESCO, the plagiarism rate in Vietnam is 15-20%, the highest in the region In Vietnam, plagiarism is most common at the university level, with 70% of students admitting

to having plagiarized There are many reasons why students plagiarize, for example,lack of time management,inadequate understanding,lack of Interest, lack of awareness and Lazy There are many style plagiarism for global

plagiarism,verbatim plagiarism, paraphrasing plagiarism, patchwork plagiarism, self-plagiarism For universities to deal with students' plagiarism, they will buy plagiarism checking software to make sure their students do not commit plagiarism, and punish plagiarism according to the law Examples include detention, exam bans, and fines when students plagiarize For students, they learn how to use source extraction software and writing skills to avoid plagiarism

We arrange the reasons in this order because

we realize that one of the most important factors lies in the subjectivity of each student, before considering the objectivity of this issue The remaining two questions will help us clarify the problem and will demonstrate the effectiveness of our solution

Plagiarism is a complex and difficult problem to solve To address the issue of plagiarism, we need

to coordinate between schools, families, and society Especially the educational environment and the awareness of students

1 First of all, the educational environment is the place that most influences students' cognition Different educational institutions such as universities, colleges, and high schools will have different levels of emphasis on academic integrity We come from different places, different educational environments, so there are still some of you who do not know or know very little about the concept of academic integrity

2 We should start looking at ways we can change students' perceptions of this issue We

know it will not be easy to change students' perceptions and it takes a lot of time to change that For example, if we increase the penalty for students who submit plagiarized work, suspend the student for a period of 1-7 days the first time, and further increase the penalty for students who submit plagiarized work literature next time However, we must ensure consistency in implementation and this depends on many different factors Instead, let

us try to combine deterrence with the communication of academic integrity rules and policies, such as penalties and

prerequisites

3 Universities and colleges that emphasize academic integrity play an extremely important role in raising students' awareness

of plagiarism We think there should be lectures and seminars on specific issues, especially for first-year students In addition, anti-plagiarism propaganda can also be included in the training program to provide more information as well as appropriate citation methods Most importantly, let students recognize the importance of original work

From the impacts, we can see that the educational environment is an important factor to prevent plagiarism If schools and universities want to reduce the problem of plagiarism, they must coordinate with families and society to promote the purpose of raising awareness of students by educating children from an early age about the culture of respecting intellectual property and strengthening laws on plagiarism
