Musical.ly was a popular short-form (15 second) video streaming and sharing app with over 100 million users till August 2018 Using a number of music and speech options offered by the application, users may lip sync and create amusing or entertaining films However, the app was purchased by Byte Dance, a Chinese company, in August 2018, and its users were transferred to Tik Tok Tik Tok is a social media platform that focuses solely on video The app's unique video editing tools include filters, music, transitions, special animations, graphics, and more Individuals can use the basic editing tools to express themselves The tendency of using Tiktok Recently, on social networks, there are always channels building content that go against the trend, despite posting objectionable information and controversial statements to make viewers annoyed The majority of people accessing Tik Tok are young people, psychologically viewers are often curious about new, indistinguishable content even though they are fully aware of the quality of information But this situation has not been completely resolved because even if it is reported, "banned" accounts will still have other channels with similar content springing up Negative impacts of Tiktok The survey results show that almost all students of Vinh Loc High School use TikTok regularly during the day The most negative impact that the survey team has is that it takes time The time they use the most is up to hours a day Besides the time-consuming use of TikTok, they are aware of the negative effects on their psychology and physiology due to overusing TikTok, leading to addiction When they are addicted to TikTok, many people stay up late to use TikTok, leading to cause obesity, and distraction, affecting living time, health, work, and study Besides, surfing TikTok can be addictive directly affecting students' learning time TikTok uses "offensive" ways to get more likes and shares which leads to delusional and psychological instability, often daydreaming TikTok cannot secure user information, and the possibility of information leakage is great, user needs and purposes can all be guessed by TikTok to provide products and services The reason is that TikTok has a serious security hole that allows hackers to exploit and take over user accounts This study will examine the tiktok usage pattern among Vinh Loc High School students, thereby demonstrating the relationship between tiktok use and its impacts on individuals PART 2: ANALYSIS Dataset findings 1.1 Gender Table 1-Gender of respondents Our research included 45 males (37.2%) and 76 females (62.8%) out of a total of 121 respondents No answers are missing 1.2 Age Figure 1- Age of respondents In this study, the survey age ranged from 15-18, of which 16 years old accounted for the largest number (70.25%) The number of votes received by the 15 year old ranked second, accounting for 15.7% It can be seen that the survey participants are between the ages of 15-16 more than 17-18 1.3 Time spent on Tiktok Figure - Number of Tiktok users by age The number of tiktok users by age group is displayed in the table above In all, 102/211 people have voted to utilize this social network, and among 17 to 18-yearolds, utilization of tiktok is 100% This shows the trend of social networks is increasing among young people In-dept analysis 2.1 The influence of Tiktok on individuals The graphs below illustrate the results of research undertaken in Vinh Loc High school with students aged from 15-18 to assess their awareness of negative impacts caused by toxic contents on Tik Tok Table - Evaluate the impact of Tiktok on individuals It is clear that the impact of Tiktok on users including 45 males (37.2%) and 76 females (62.8%) out of 121 respondents with no answers missing In this distribution, the mean equals 2.760 and the median equals 3.0 which does not show a great difference Moreover, the standard deviation equal to 1.1692, which is approximate =1, further confirms that the normalized residuals follow a symmetric distribution As witnessed from the table, the median equals mode, indicating that the most typical number is This means that the majority of participants believe Tiktok only has a moderate impact on them, with an average value of Out of 121 respondents, 49 people choose that option, accounting for 40.5% 20.7% of the participants think that they are affected slightly, while 21 individuals choose option 1, meaning they are unaffected by Tiktok In contrast, the percentage of people who select levels and 5, which are strongly influenced or addicted to TikTok, is lower, making up 11.6% and 9.9% respectively 2.2 Frequency of Tiktok contents seen and perceived Table - Feeling about toxic contents being seen on Tiktok The table above gives a snapshot of the reaction of respondents after seeing toxic contents on TikTok Surprisingly, among respondents who never see toxic topics before, 29% claimed that they felt annoyed, this can be explained by the popularity of TikTok on other social platforms, therefore even if not use TikTok, they can still see its content somewhere else While 51.6% showed no interest on the topics, only 6.5% found it interesting On the other hand, the majority (55.6%) of people said that they always came across toxic content on TikTok answered that they were bothered by them, while others had neither interest nor feeling about the topics In general, the table indicated whether people saw toxic topics on TikTok or not, these topics did not affect much on their emotions (52.9%), besides, 33.1% tended to be disturbed by them and almost nobody thought that the topics were interesting 2.3 Frequency of toxic topics appearing on Tiktok Table - Toxic topics on tiktok The table shows frequencies of toxic topics appearing on Tik Tok According to collected data, videos containing fake news come into sight most frequently with 79 replies (18.4%) about these ones, followed by traditional custom violation with 68 replies (15.8%) Contents about dangerous challenges, which receive 49 replies (11.4%), rank the last Many articles and researches also show that fake news on Tik Tok is one of the thorny issues Steven Brill, founder of NewsGuard -
