SEAT – FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Separate Folding Seat Type) SE–19 INSTALLATION CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag) (See page RS-1) INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (a) Place the front seat in the cabin (b) Tighten the bolts on the front side of the front seat Torque: 37 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) (c) Tighten the bolts on the rear side of the front seat Torque: 37 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) SE B087346E01 (d) Install the wire harness clamp (e) Connect the connector (f) w/ Front Seat Side Airbag: (1) Connect the connector B087647E01 B087345E01 INSTALL SEAT TRACK COVER HINT: Follow the same procedures as for the opposite side (a) Engage the claws and install the seat track cover CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Torque: 3.9 N*m (40 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf) INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag) (See page RS-28) SEAT – FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type Driver Side) SE–23 REMOVAL CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag) (See page RS-1) DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag) REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER HINT: Follow the same procedures as for the opposite side (a) Disengage the claws and remove the seat track cover B087374E01 REMOVE FRONT Pull the lumbar adjuster dial outward REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE (a) Using a screwdriver with its tip taped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster clamps (b) Remove the wire harness clamp (c) Disconnect the seat position airbag sensor connector (d) Remove the nut and front seat inner belt REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD (a) Remove the B087402E01 10 REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY (a) Remove the wiring harness clamps (b) Remove the screws (c) Disengage the 10 hooks and lumbar support adjuster B087382E01 11 REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH (a) Remove the screw (b) Disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster inside cover 12 REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH HINT: Follow the same procedures as for Using a "Torx" socket wrench T30, remove the screw and seat position sensor B087385E01 SE SEAT – FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type Driver Side) SE–29 REASSEMBLY CAUTION: Wear protective gloves Sharp surface on the front seat with adjuster frame could cause injuries to your hands Seat Position Sensor Feeler Gauge Seat Rail B076909E05 INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR (a) Temporarily install the seat position sensor (b) Install a mm (0.04 in.) feeler gauge between the slide rail and seat position sensor as shown in the illustration NOTICE: • If the seat position sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the seat position sensor with a new one • When installing the seat position sensor, make sure that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts HINT: Make sure that the clearance between the seat position sensor and seat rail is within 0.6 to mm (0.023 to 0.079 in.) (c) Push the top of the seat position sensor While holding the seat position sensor, tighten the seat position sensor using a "Torx" socket wrench T30 Torque: 8.0 N*m (80 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER LH (a) Install the reclining adjuster outside cover with the screw INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER OUTSIDE COVER RH HINT: Follow the same procedures as for the reclining adjuster outside cover LH INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH (a) Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster inside cover (b) Tighten the screw INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH HINT: Follow the same procedures as for the reclining adjuster inside cover LH B087384E01 B087383E01 SE SE–30 SEAT – FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Separate Seat Type Driver Side) INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY (a) Hook the 10 hooks (b) Install the lumbar support adjuster with the screws (c) Install new wiring harness clamps (d) Cut each wiring harness clamp to10 mm (0.197 to 0.394 in.) from the stopper, as shown in the illustration INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER (a) Using hog ring pliers, install the front seat cushion cover with new hog rings NOTICE: • Do not contaminate or scratch the front seat cushion cover • When installing the hog rings, minimize wrinkles as far as possible Stopper to 10 mm (0.197 to 0.94 in.) (1) Install the front seat back spring into the front seat back pad (2) Install the hook tape (3) Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings (4) Fully cover the air bag with the inner hook and tighten the bolt Torque: 5.5 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) NOTICE: • For vehicles with side air bag, the front seat back cover must be securely installed Otherwise, the side air bag may not deploy properly • Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the inner hook • Install the inner hook securely (b) w/o Front Seat Side Airbag: (1) Install the front seat back spring into the front seat back pad (2) Install the hook tape (3) Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings SEAT – FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Separate Folding Seat Type) SE–15 11 INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT HINT: Follow the same procedures as for the opposite side (a) Engage the claws and install the front seat headrest support B087358E01 12 INSTALL FRONT SEAT BACK LOCK HANDLE ROD (a) Install the front INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE KNOB LH (a) Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster release handle 22 INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE KNOB RH HINT: Follow the same procedures as for the reclining adjuster release handle LH B087351E01 SE–18 SEAT – FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Separate Folding Seat Type) 23 INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD (a) Engage the claws and clip, and install
