APTIS SV – VSTEP SV – TOEIC SV – IELTS SV – Giao Tiếp SV DISCUSSION TOPIC: Is talent better than hard work? The world has become a highly competitive place in all aspects of life, whether professionally or personally In one way or another, hard-work and talent are a potent combination when it comes to achieving success Some people believe that personal aptitude is the first and foremost factor In fact, hard workers eventually earn more achievements than individuals who only rely on their brilliance Firstly, experience can only be gained by hard-working Hard-word is the first step towards smart work Just by learning and recovering from practice and mistakes, people can better on the next tasks As a result, this experience enables people to think smartly, so that they certainly can solve a critical problem In contrast, the multitalented who never and not know what to with their innate abilities often have frustrated lives Secondly, only by hard-working, people can get enough motivation To accomplish anything in this life, one has to commit to have discipline, dedication and determination However, it is not easy to follow up In this case, motivation is extremely necessary The word “hard” can be seen as an abbreviated form of the words “hope, achievement, reward and destiny” All of these words can take anybody towards victory Talent, on the other hand, often leads to shortcuts, which not provide mental satisfaction when achieving success The supporters of personal aptitude may say that it is the most important key Granted, talent gives people opportunities that hard-work does not However, a brilliant man with no attempt gets nowhere mostly For instance, there is no doubt that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the two greatest footballers of the first quarter of the 21 st century Their beginning is totally different that Messi is a talented player but Ronaldo is not However, the obvious similar factor that makes their success is the effort They could never get their glory days without pain, pressure, suffering and diligence In conclusion, both talent and hard-work are the key to innovation and success It would be wonderful to have personal aptitude However, hard-work can beat talent when talent does not work hard QUESTIONS: Do you think you are a hard-working person or a lazy person? Why? What is the definition of talent in your opinion? Debate: Is Talent or hard work more important in a person's life?
