PART I INTRODUCTION 1.1 Rationale of the study Yen Bai city is the political center of Yen Bai province It can be concluded that the province has reached its maximum economic growth in the past years through the development of various sectors However, the current status of general waste and domestic waste in particular have not been fully evaluated and audited, provided that this leads to difficulty in collection and waste management No appropriate measures on proper disposal has been done Therefore, the assessment of the current status of the management and treatment of household waste is one of the vital problems of Yen Bai city The purpose of this research is to have an access to the situation of Domestic Solid Waste (DSW) management system in Yen Bai City The study will mainly focus on the advantages and disadvantages in waste management in order to find the rational management solutions for domestic solid waste management system in Yen Bai City an Lu From there, we PART V DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION 5.1 Discussion The study has shown is the actual survey results about the current situation of the management of domestic solid waste in Yen Bai City Yen Bai City is a third-class city, with the natural area is 106.74 km2, the population is 97,907 The social and economic conditions of the city have progressed over the years On another hand, this development also triggered increasing domestic waste, and the danger of environmental pollution Yen Bai City is the mountainous urban, the terrain is divided by mountains Furthermore, people often put the domestic waste together with the straw, sticks, making difficult to the management and process of domestic waste collection in the city The sanitation teams cannot collect thoroughly the domestic waste in the areas At present, the volume of waste generated in Yen Bai City are about 70-80 tons/day and about 27 375 tons/year The amount of garbage generated from various an Lu sources such as: households, markets, offices in which the source of generated n va primarily from household take up 62.07% of the total; the percentage of waste from ac th markets and offices are 15.71% and 19.28% in turn, and 2.94% is from others d si The nl ow Composition of domestic solid waste in Yen Bai city is very diversified d oa percentage of organic waste is highest with 62% of the total This kind of waste is oi The collection, transporting and treatment of domestic waste in Yen Bai City by Nam Thanh Yen Bai Environment and Energy Joint Stock Company undertaken Manpower and equipment serve has been invested and upgraded to the best service for the purpose of the collection of garbage, include 165 collecting workers, 400 handcarts and many others The amount of collected waste is about 76.5% total wastes in the city Domestic waste is treated by the methods as: Process microbial organic fertilizer from organic waste, process plastic beads from plastic bag, and landfill The management system is still weak and is not functioning efficiently The process of collecting, transporting waste has many inadequacies due to lack of equipment, manpower and funding 5.2 Conclusion Through research result, it
