of feedback from learners in communicative language classrooms The thesis was entitled “The effectiveness of feedback from learners” at Cao Lanh No.1 High School The study aimed to describe the real situation of teaching and learning English in rural area that led to students’ passiveness and shyness The empirical studies investigating the feedback from learners were examined to determine if feedback could lead to substantial changes in students’ learning style over the long term and to find out what factors are necessary for effective feedback The review of literature revealed that feedback could have an impact on learners’ learning style if teachers follow the necessary procedures: assessment of learners’ needs, responses, students’ questions, and employment of methods that helped students become confident, had motivation in learning English as well as have a close relationship with their teachers The research was conducted as follows: (1) a questionnaire asking students about their activeness in class, desire of being asked ideas by the teachers, and teachers’ attitude in order to search for what learners’ needs; (2) students’ comments on their previous English teachers to find out students’ expectation from their teachers in learning English; (3) a questionnaire asking English teachers about feedback from learners so as to figure out their thought of this and whether their having ever applied it in their teaching process; (4) the result of pretest and posttest to demonstrate students’ improvement What had been withdrawn in findings revealing that almost students liked to ask their teachers for things that they did not understand in learning English Through feedback from learners, the students changed their mind actively and became more confident in English class Moreover, the.interaction between the teachers and the students was improved From this point of view, the effectiveness of feedback form learners is recommended to better
