Luan an Do an CHAPTER I: INTRODUCTION In 2021, 7139 languages are spoken around the world, according to Ethnologue statistics That number is constantly growing, and languages themselves are developing to make them more user-friendly Despite changes in the number of languages spoken around the world, English remains the most widely spoken language (both native and non-native speakers) English is spoken in 146 different countries In addition to places where it is used as a mother tongue, English is considered as second and third language in many countries around the world Vietnam is one of the countries where English has been made a compulsory subject since the primary school years Because English is becoming more popular in Vietnam, many students have realized the value of learning English in order to meet the needs of modern society The translation acts a bridge that helps people who not speak the same language to understand what others want to express In other words, translation is transferral data expressed in one language (called the source language) into another language (called the target language) However, conveying meaning between languages is only ‘the tip of the iceberg’ The translation goes beyond what we see on the surface For the translation to be the most perfect, it is necessary to converge many different factors Depending on the English-using environment, the way to apply translation is different, especially final year students who are doing their internship process face many difficulties due to some limitations in English knowledge Within the scope of this study, the researchers will identify and analyze the elements that lead to the difficulties that final year students frequently cope with when translating business English during their internship With a title ‘The application of the course of business translation to last year English majors at Lac Hong University during their internship’, the researchers would like to better understand the problems of students of cohort 18 of the FEL at Lac Hong University Stt.010.Mssv.BKD002ac.email.ninhd Luan an Do an Then, based on data collected from four-year students of 18AV (18AV111,18AV112, 18AV113, 18AV114), the authors would like to make some suggestions to assist final year students in avoiding mistakes and resolving troubles throughout the translation process at the internship places Statement of the problem In the era of technology 4.0, there are many systems available to assist us quickly transferring meaning from the source language to the target language A good example is Google Translate which is an automatic translation tool Google Translate, which was launched by Google in 2006, as a bridge between many different languages around the world According to Wikipedia, Google Translate supports more than 100 languages at different levels Since May 2017, it has served more than 500 million people every day We simply select the source and target languages, copy or write the information to be translated, and the system gives a quick result However, the nature of the system is that the machine cannot fully comprehend the meaning of the text we need to transmit, so it cannot replace the role of the translators Especially in many cases, sentences and paragraphs must use cultural components or several levels of meaning For example, the word ‘Gà Tre’ in English is called ‘Bantam Chicken’, which is the name of a type of chicken, but this tool translates into English as ‘bamboo chicken’ because it misunderstands the word ‘bamboo’ here as a plant called ‘bamboo tree’ Only translators who have been trained in language and translation skills can detect and translate correctly Translation is a job that cannot be replaced by technology since it requires logical thinking about the language as well as proficient and fluent language skills In the 6th and 7th semesters of the FEL at Lac Hong University, students have studied Translation and Translation which is being increased in difficulty levels after each semester Translation is a subject that focuses on translation techniques and theory In addition, the teacher integrated examples and exercises related to business into the form of sentences Moving on to the Translation subject, practice translating the examples and exercises in the form of texts on a variety of topics, mainly focused on business such as contracts, negotiation, marketing, and so on This is a subject of Luan an Do an great significance because the staff and teachers of the FEL of Lac Hong University are trained professionally in English translation and interpretation English - Vietnamese and Vietnamese - English translation has become a core subject that provides students with a solid knowledge of the difference between English and Vietnamese languages as well as translation skills to suit their needs in each context However, due to many factors, students have to face numerous difficulties during the education process, resulting in poor academic performance This has a direct impact on the problems that final year students face during the internship process As a result, final year students who are at internship process lack confidence in applying the subject of Business Translation into their work We are aware of the challenges and find the right solutions to solve these problems, providing a significant contribution to assisting students in better applying the subject After this, prepare yourself with the best knowledge and experience in translation The reason for choosing the topic As we all know, the subject of Translation is very important for senior during their internship period Students, on the other hand, have struggled to incorporate translated tasks into their work This stems from the poor study of Translation and Translation subjects by many students of the FEL, especially Translation Translation is a subject that requires translating long passages and texts into a target language It is easy to see that the subject requires many elements in the translation process, but many students cannot fully grasp all the theoretical knowledge in Translation The poor study and application of the subject of Translation may be due to the fact that the students themselves have not actively studied and improved their subject knowledge or have not studied well in the subjects that are prerequisites or parallel to the subjects of Translation, such as Vietnamese in Practice, Specialized English Subjects, etc., leading to uncertain knowledge of English and Vietnamese, thus being unable to apply well as translators Vietnamese and English, which are two languages that come from the East and the West, have marked differences in grammatical structures and vocabulary and reflect two different cultures in their usage The results addition to requiring accurate translation of sentence structures and word usage, working style is a top priority All three students said that they need to ensure accuracy, honesty in translations, and confidentiality of customer information Question number three is related to writing skills for the compilation application When asked about the importance of writing skills for commercial translation, the students all found that writing skills are an equally important skill in English translation Good writing skills will help students recognize the sentence structure and easily analyze the meaning of the translation or the style of the texts The last question asked three students to name some tools to assist them in looking up vocabulary and looking up information for translation After receiving the answers, the researchers compiled four websites that helped them solve this problem Websites such as Collocations lookup dictionary - Ozdic, Thesaurus - an English synonym lookup website, English vocabulary lookup tool - Ngrams, and Rewordify - a tool for writing English theses and reports CHAPTER V: RECOMMENDATIONS Through the study of ‘The application of the courses of Translation and Translation to last year English majors at Lac Hong University during their internship’ and, at the same time, analyzing the difficulties that the students of cohort 18 encountered during their internship, the writers would like to propose some solutions to help students who are and will be studying these subjects to overcome common problems, thereby improving the learning himself must be really self-disciplined and aware of the importance of translation in the internship process as well as in the student's future jobs Each person will draw his own solutions to change the negative situation In order to study well in Translation subjects, students must have an active attitude and actively cooperate with lecturers In class, students need to pay attention to the lectures, take notes carefully, make active statements and actively help each other in the learning process In addition, students need to actively discuss with the lecturers when they encounter any problems so that they can soon have a solution to avoid prolonged difficulties affecting their translation study progress At home, the students must try to complete the homework on their own In addition, students should find other translated documents to practice their proficiency in translation techniques Your efforts today are the best ‘luggage’ for the application of a translation in your work in the future 1.2 Building up lexical resources For students of the FEL, learning vocabulary is extremely important Vocabulary is the core to making a complete sentence Each student needs to build his own method suitable for his own ability to memorize words and phrases Below, the researchers would like to offer two methods for students' references The first method is to prepare a notebook just for taking notes on the words Specialized words, phrases, as well as polysemous words that students encounter after school or after listening to or reading a news bulletin should be words on one side, write Vietnamese meanings on the other side Students can study together or self-study by showing the face with English words and guessing the meaning on the side with Vietnamese writing and vice versa Flashcards are also very portable for review whenever you have free time 1.3 Improving grammar and sentence structures In parallel with vocabulary, grammar is also an important factor in creating a complete sentence in meaning and structure Students should also have methods for improving their ability to use grammar or sentence structure Similar to the method of improving vocabulary, it is essential to prepare a notebook to record useful structures and expressions We often hear the statement, Once written, once remembered Therefore, taking notes on knowledge is very important Besides, students should also search for information on prestigious pages or dictionaries to gain a deeper understanding of how to use particular sentence structures and all knowledge related to grammar in general To further research The researchers found some limitations in the results of the current study Due to time and knowledge limitations, this study cannot cover all the in-depth difficulties of the interns The researchers only collected 43 answers from 110 students in four 18AV classes This may be a number that makes the study not completely convincing In addition, the researchers collected all the data using an online method Therefore, we are not able to control all the responses of the questionnaire participants, leading to some of the answers being out of focus In addition, the researchers only studied the application of translation during the internship The scope of the study was very small, and the research subjects were only the students of cohort deeply and in more detail about the difficulties that students face during the two semesters of Translation subjects and the importance of business translation in their future work Further research could be to explore the effectiveness of translation methods and the relationships between learning outcomes and translation application CHAPTER VI: CONCLUSION Translation and Translation are regarded as a highly important courses for Lac Hong University's final year English major language students The Translation courses not only give students a lot of specialized knowledge, but also teach them how to express the correct meaning in English and Vietnamese While attempting to adjust and integrate into a new environment, interns may have problems with translation tasks during their internship build up supplement to the translation subjects On the other hand, Business English translation is a highly specialized and academic field that require researchers to have a broad grasp Finding solutions to students' translation problems is a real challenge for them Due to a lack of time and research resources, we can only offer a few alternatives For example, throughout the learning process, students must actively attend lectures, take notes on key points in the lectures, and work with their classmates in translation tasks If a problem arises, students must actively discuss it with the lecturer as soon as possible in order to avoid jeopardizing the translation study's progress Furthermore, students must learn to read and write more documents from various fields such as books, newspapers, movies, and so on, in order to cultivate a more solid vocabulary not only in the commercial industry but also in other industry with high labor demand Finally, since this is the
