report were to: Review our targets, context, plan and procedures that we implemented for this “You are not alone” project for weeks Make a result’s report to analyze the influence to the scope From that we took the conclusion to help us know more what is good or bad in our project so that we can avoid or improve in the future project Finally, we also gave some recommendations from those conclusions to help those people who want a reference for their project In short, this report will provide you not only the overview of a whole project that we carried on but also the details of each part to have a clear view of our works We organize this report into these sections: ● ● ● ● ● ● Introduction Procedures Findings Analysis Conclusion Recommendation Introduction I Background & problem First, we are going to talk about the background of the problem Bullying is briefly defined as “unwanted, aggressive behavior among school-aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose.” (stopbullying.gov, 2020) There are a variety of reasons why students exhibit mental bullying behaviors towards others which include: financial problems, learning ability, gender, social class, … Especially for students, a study suggested that the “perceived pressure to bully was likely to come from within the friendship group, and that some students bully to maintain this inclusion and hence confirm a sense of belonging to their friendship group.” (Burns et al 2008) This can be further demonstrated in the illustration below: Figure 1: Peer Group as an Influence on Initiation and Persistence of Bullying Bullying can cause chronic memory issues, absence at school, academic problems, mental breakdown, anxiety, depression, self-isolation, shyness and social phobia Some studies have demonstrated that the effects of bullying victimization go beyond the development of depression, anxiety and social exclusion Bullying is shown to “not only elevated levels of social isolation, depression and anxiety [ ] but also, especially girls and bully-victims, increased selfharm behaviours and suicidal ideations.”(Arseneault et al 2010) Furthermore, the effect of bullying is not fleeting, but a long-lasting one, with “young victims of bullying continue to have adjustment difficulties in late adolescence and early adulthood.” (Arseneault et al 2010) Problems experienced by victims are not merely minor difficulties but include severe problems such as psychotic symptoms and suicidal ideations However, the problems don’t only stop there, as it is also a social problem, causing low morale, increased crime rate, increased suicide rate, leaving families and communities devastated and grief Another research capitalizing on criminal offences in the UK police register found out that boys who were bully-victims in childhood had an increased risk of committing repeated criminal offences between the ages of 16 and 20, whether or not they also had psychiatric symptoms in childhood (Sourander et al 2007) In addition, it can lead to an increased risk of psychoactive drug abuse and drinking problems II Solution Our project hence is formed with the name of “You are not alone” for FPT University students and professors to first, help to construct a friendly and bullying-free environment suitable for academic pursuit as well as to give students a platform to share their stories and hardships We plan to create an engaging community on our social media platform through the use of informative posts and events, as well as conducting a survey about the current bullying situation in FPT University at first and expand more to the campus communities at large Procedures We have approached our target for our anti-bullying campaign by doing the survey on the campus and creating a fanpage where we can spread our influence to everyone and making a short movie to spread influence Our campaign will last until the end of weeks The project’s plan: ● Week to 2: ○ Conduct a survey in FPT university promote it by posting the survey to FPT University Students’ Official Facebook page ● Week to the end of the project: ○ Create a fanpage on Facebook and upload posts every week ● Week to 6: ○ Make a short movie, upload the movie to the fanpage, and share the short movie I Survey Our group had conducted a survey on our school since the start of the project We conducted a survey to know more about the problem of school violence on the campus We selected the question based on many sources like newspapers and social media, Our list of questions include: ● Are you studying at FPT University? ● What major are you studying in? ● You are? ● Have you ever been bullied at school? ● What you think about school violence at school? ● Do you feel safe at school? ● Have you witnessed or experienced some form of psychological bullying at school? ● What you when you are bullied? ● If you not choose to report to others, what are your reasons? ● What would you if you ever saw bullying behavior at school? ● If you don't report the bullying you see, what are your reasons? ● If you have ever reported school violence, who did you report it to? ● What you think of the school's anti-bullying facility system? ● Would you be interested if there was a confession page about school violence? Our survey aims at the students of the campus and university across Ho Chi Minh city Due to the covid pandemic, we can’t conduct a survey directly so we conduct it on our school Facebook fanpage and google form Our form’s link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1pZfRGM_FGVSUPob6X3CoxAavaNd4Ba4C52j6KwUt4BU/edit II Fanpage “You are not alone” Our fanpage on Facebook was created in the second week and that marks the beginning of our project, now it has been weeks since the beginning of the project Our fanpage is the platform where we publicize the posts to show the impact of bullying on student life and mentally and confess that students can share their stories with everyone We plan to public posts each week and share our posts with everyone through FPTU fanpage Our fanpage: Figure 2: The header of fanpage “You are not alone” I Short film The short film is the 2nd main influence of the whole anti-bullying campaign Making the short film was the most challenging part for us ● Total weeks: weeks ● First weeks: Writing the screenplay, ● Final week: Rewriting, filming, voice acting and editing, OUR AIM Even though ‘You are not alone’ is an anti-school-bullying campaign, we decided to write something different Our aim for this short is to provide the audience a newer perspective of our mind The short film portraits a young man named K struggling with his fears and negative thoughts wanting to be happy He always blames others for his pain but never looks inside of him because he is afraid of his demons He is afraid to suffer more if he faces him LOGLINE K, a young man sent into a strange world by ’people’, helplessly watching the ghostly Dark Moon in front of his house collapsing into pieces, must confront his ultimate fear to escape his world UNCUT STORY Act The short film takes place in his home after years living in fear and negative thoughts In the sky, a huge, damaged, dark object is collapsing For him, it’s like watching something that he can’t control When it hits the ground, everything will turn into an apocalypse (metaphor for his collapsing and ending up doing extremely negative things to himself) Being alone in his world, his only ‘friend’ is his imaginary one whom K shares his thoughts with On day 732, K suddenly sees multiple ghost figures (his shadows, his past) levitating in the sky, signaling an urgence that needs to be dealt with, if not, that day will be K’s final day Act K enters his room Even though they might be the key to end this, he doesn’t want to look at them A phone call comes from his computer Hearing the ring, he slowly approaches his computer and picks up Strangely, K hears a voice that is identical to himself He told K to work with him to control the Moon, preventing it from reaching the ground Being unable to trust him, K sees him as a stranger Immediately, the door in his room is suddenly locked by an indestructible otherworldly wall On the wall, there’s a lock The Stranger convinced him to believe in him, leading up to the appearance of a weird and forgotten machine - a machine that is connected to K’s mind and emotion One of the ghosts in the sky has broken into his house, searching for K He and the stranger must work together to ‘control’ the ghost, convincing them to find the key hidden in his house K has to break out of the room He opened the ‘software’, finding out that it’s a monitoring software that can control the ghosts (control his negative emotions and mindset) One of them has the key to open the locked door screen– representing the ghost that broke into the house - appears in front of him Now, K has to talk to them to find the key elsewhere in the house At first, K is scared by them only to find out that they are surprisingly mindless K manages to control the ghost searching for the key Unfortunately, the key is not there! But he found out that it is the ghost in his house that controls the Dark Moon Act The ghost penetrates his room Voids of darkness fill the empty space K tries to hide in his bathroom, hearing the violent knocking from outside Being in extreme pressure, he finally gains courage and prepares to face them, asking about the key After being convinced by the ghost that there is no key, K can make one He shut down the computer, seeing the key is in front of him, inside his own room K opened the door, ran outside The damage caused by the Moon is still there, but The Dark Moon is not there anymore, replaced with a glowing, large diamond Later he found out that the caller doesn’t exist The caller is himself all along MEANING The power of our mindset If we have a good mind set, we will solve our problems more easily and feel better than ever Therefore, we solve the bullying problems more effectively and the victims will find a great way to heal themselves FINDINGS I Survey statistics ● We conducted a survey by posting google forms in FPTU Student HCM and other groups on Facebook ● Our survey comes with 109 answers Figure 4: Students’ background statistics Figure 3: Student’s gender statistics In Figure 3.1.3, nearly half of the students’ major is engineering (45,9%) and followed by social science with 17,4% and humanities with 12,8% Figure 5: Students’ major statistics POST DATE: 12/7/2021 RESULT: Figure 16: Data of short film’s influence -The short film has 543 viewers, interactions and 43 clicks (until 17/7) -Even though our film doesn’t attract viewers, it has no negative response and feedback ANALYSIS I Survey First, we planned to conduct a survey in FPT University and promoted it by posting the survey to FPT University Students’ Official Facebook page to gain further insights into the current bullying status at the campus The survey came with 109 answers and 63.4% of students believed that bullying is a big problem that needs to be solved and 70.4% had suffered from mental bullying This is far more than we expected when the research of PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center showed only one of five (20.2%) reported being bullied Moreover, 30.3% of them chose to ignore it if they see other students being bullied and this is a little bit lower than the statistic of 46% of bullied students report notifying an adult at school about the incident (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2019) 16 II Facebook fanpage In the second week, we created a fanpage on Facebook of the project to kick off our platform and marked the start of the campaign At present, there are a total of posts, videos and a short film on our fanpage We had a good start when our first two posts reached two thousand viewers and we also got an average of one thousand and a half in our posts When we released our short film we succeeded in capturing people’s attention, our post engagement had rocketed and more people had followed our page since then The project is expected to reach out to more people and widen students’ vision and understanding of bullying III Short film Due to the fact that we had to make the movie in Covid-19, we couldn’t deliver the whole story to the audience, therefore, we had to cut plot points and re-writing in order to deliver the film on schedule There are flaws in our film that we want to improve: ● The film that is posted on Facebook does not meet our expectations ● The uncut story needs more adjustments in the emotional, conceptual, logical aspects ● We treated the short film as an art project more than a social campaign video Therefore, it might not convey the whole message of anti-bullying With the fact that making good films is extremely challenging, we are proud that we have completed the short film on time As a group that values and has desires for art, looking at the artistic perspective, the uncut story is fairly unique and creative to us, even though it needs more re-writing But reaching thousands of viewers is not our goal Our goal is to deliver a new message for those who watch our movie and also complete such short film that we have never done before CONCLUSION Due to COVID-19, “You are not alone” project contagiousness to people via social media Facebook has decreased rapidly in the last month Page views and followers approach the page fewer than the beginning of the project On another hand, engagements and reach of our page has increased with the publishing of the videos, especially the short film People usually care about trendy news or hot events like pride month Taking advantage of those opportunities, we have published videos and posts to spread our value along the trend 17 RECOMMENDATION Problem: ● Workshop and confession cannot be launched ● The amount of engagement is still too low ● Our scope is not big enough ● Content is still not attractive enough Reason: ● Due to the pandemic-covid 19 and social distancing we can’t open a workshop or social activities In addition, we can not raise funds for our project so we have to nonprofit ● Being affected by other groups with the same mental bullied content make our post being ignored cause no ones like to read the same content twice ● The project is only month so the numbers of posts and activities are not much, we can not spread to many people as we plan but so far we did our best ● We don’t get many shares, only shared by our members and our posts were not in an ideal time As a result, it affects a lot to our scope and interaction Recommendation for improvement The project we are doing plays a particular role in helping mentally bullied students All of the members have done a good job in creating the content for our main page on Facebook However, the engagement we have is still too low due to other groups which have the same idea as our project As a way to improve we should create the content in a more visual and lively approach to draw more attention, perhaps we could post our content at different periods of time when other groups are not active in order to stand out and we could enlarge the scope of our project to students in different universities About the workshop and the confession, it is unfortunate that we have only month for the project and due to the pandemic – covid 19, all of our social activities we have planned have to shut down In replacement, we could make them online on the Facebook platform in the future and it will have the same effect we expected For example, we can make more movies like a short movie we have just posted to replace the workshop and diversify our content instead of the normal writing posts we are doing All in all, we need to keep staying motivated and our best in the future 18 References Arseneault* L,
