114 wide impacts This data is generally unavailable in a form either appropriate or consistent for this research Therefore, considerable data preparation efforts were required before the analysis could commence The baseline scenario is developed using the standard I-O model; a base I-O table is adapted from the GSO databases by disaggregating its sectors according to the study’s focus For example, the electricity sector can be expanded to include various economic generation technologies The basic I-O table is then transformed into I-O coefficient matrices, which provide a foundation for our model a) The data was prepared from the GSO’s 2007 Vietnam database and other related documents, and was then converted into 149 economic sectors After considering economic development rates and to facilitate the data calculation, the 149 sectors in the original I-O table were reduced to 54 sectors, and this new table was updated from the year 2007 to 2014 to precisely reflect the information Further, the tables needed an aggregation to ensure sectoral consistency and coherence with other data sources In light of this research focus, various sectors were grouped according to their economies, including food, water and industrial impacts, among others Table 4-6 summarises these groupings, which indicate the number of sub-sectors that are aggregated from the 54 sectors considered in this research
