Scope Procedure This standard specifies a test method to verify that dry film lubricants ensure the required corrosion protection after exposure to salt spray Degrease the specimens and dry abrasive blast both surfaces and edges of the specimens with clean dry alumina of 125 4m grain size Phosphate the specimens according to EN 2793: zinc phosphate to a mass per unit area of not less than g/m2 or manganese phosphate to a mass per unit area of not less than g/m2 Measure the thickness of the specimen taking care not to damage the phosphating Apply the dry lubricant to the surfaces and edges in accordance with EN 2491 After curing, to avoid the edge effect, seal the edges on 10 mm width with a suitable sealing compound Verify according to EN 3032 that the thickness meets the requirements of EN 3021 Test the specimens according to ISO 9227 After an exposure for 96 h, remove them and rinse them in deionized water to remove salt residues Normative references This European Standard
