specifies contours Rims shall be designated and marked in accordance and dimensions of rims for use with code- designated with BS AU 50- 0: 979 series tyres used on industrial vehicles Requirements for such tyres are specified in BS AU 50- : 994 Requirements for rim construction and workmanship are specified in BS AU 50- 0: 979 SAFETY NOTE The wheel manufacturer should also be consulted to determine whether the rim and wheel is of sufficient strength for the intended service In particular, care should be taken to ensure that the wheel will withstand the maximum pressure of any tyre that can be fitted in accordance Rim profiles 5.1 Rims with ° tapered bead seat Rims with ° tapered bead seat rim profiles shall be in accordance with Figure and Table and Table The specified rim diameter shall be verified by measuring the wheel rim circumference with a ball tape The measured circumference shall be within ± mm of the nominal circumference of the appropriate mandrel, as specified in Annex A with BS AU 50- : 994 This pressure may 5.2 Divided rims exceed 000 kPa (1 bar) for both diagonal and Divided rim profiles shall be in accordance radial tyres with Figure and Table and Table The specified References wheel rim circumference with a ball tape The 2.1 Normative reference This Subsection of BS AU 50- incorporates, by dated or undated reference, provisions from another rim diameter shall be verified by measuring the measured circumference shall be within ± mm of the nominal circumference of the appropriate mandrel, as specified in Annex A publication This normative reference is made at the 5.3 Flat base rims appropriate places in the text and the cited Flat base rim profiles shall be in accordance publication is listed on the inside back cover For with Figure and Table and Table dated references, only the edition cited applies; any subsequent amendments to or revisions of the cited publication apply to this Subsection of BS AU 50- 5.4 Drop-centre ° tapered rims for normal base tyres only when incorporated by amendment or revision Drop- centre ° tapered rim profiles for normal base For undated references the latest edition of the cited tyres shall be in accordance with Figure publication applies, together with any amendments 2.2 Informative reference This Subsection of BS AU 50- refers to another publication that provides information or guidance The edition of this publication current at the time of issue of this standard is listed on the inside back and Table and Table The specified rim diameter shall be verified by measuring the wheel rim circumference with a ball tape The measured circumference shall be within ± mm of the nominal circumference of the appropriate mandrel, as specified in Annex A cover, but reference should be made to
