Prinect Image Control and Color Interface Prinect Color and Quality Prinect Color Solutions – User Guide Introduction2 Prinect Color Solutions – User Guide In the publication series Prinect Color Solutions – User Guide we aim to take a closer look at individual aspects of the color workflow. The focus here is on practical applications. The aim of Prinect Color Solutions is to optimize the presettings of the printing press and the control of the printing process before, during and after printing. This is essentially achieved by improved integration of the printing press into the prepress workflow. For this purpose, parameters for printing substrates and consumables and the target values of the printing process for presetting on the Prinect CP2000 Center are exchanged between prepress and printing. Together with the zonal area coverage on the printing plate, this enables you to set up the printing press quickly after a job change. Informa- tion on the printing process and the content of the print sheet is provided via the Prinect Prepress Interface to control the printing process with Prinect Image Control and Prinect Axis Control. The prepress supplies the parameters for presetting and controlling print- ing. The parameters are generated by the applications Prinect SignaStation, Prinect Printready and Prinect MetaDimension. The Prinect Calibration Manager is responsible for creating the correct calibrations of the platesetter and printing processes, Prinect PrintOpen for profiling printing and proof processes, and the Prinect Quality Monitor for controlling all modules in- volved. The interaction of the individual modules is complex. With Prinect Color Solutions – User Guide this interaction is made more transparent for the user. Prinect Color Solutions Introduction Prinect Color Solutions – User Guide 3 Prinect Image Control and Color Interface The aim of the publication Prinect Image Control and Color Interface is to describe how the Color Interface option of Prinect Image Control is used in conjunc- tion with the Prinect Profile Toolbox and the Prinect Calibration Toolbox in printing control and in calibrating and profiling printing processes. Prinect Image Control can be used as a fast measuring device for profiling and process calibration and for process control. Here, the printed test charts required for profiling and calibration, such as color charts or quality control strips, are measured spectrophotometrically and the measured values are saved as a file. The Prinect Profile Toolbox with the modules PrintOpen and Quality Monitor and the Prinect Calibration Toolbox with the modules Calibration Manager and Quality Monitor then generate ICC profiles, calibration curves and quality evaluations on the basis of this saved data. Prinect Image Control and Color Interface gives an insight into the many dif- ferent functions of Image Control, PrintOpen, Calibration Manager and Quality Monitor. The further functions that lead on from these will then be much more accessible. Software versions This publication relates to the following software versions of the Prinect products: Generally, later versions of the software also support the described functions. Changes may occur in the user interface, however. Notes on this can be found in the corresponding product and application documentation. The products and options described may not be included in the standard scope of delivery and must be purchased separately.
