challenges A professional interpreter must be able to combine multiple skills to perform the task of translating orally from one language to another Some of the sections that students learn in the Interpreting Major are: interpreting a text orally, interpreting a long conversation by note-taking, interpreting a continuous conversation, etc Interpreting Commercial news is a crucial key that decides the success of the interpreting task This study discusses Commercial news interpretation from English to Vietnamese, intended for English-majored students at Thuongmai University From the perspective of a fourth-year English-majored, the author highlights the important role of commercial news interpreting skills, finding out the shortcomings of English majors at TMU in learning and applying this skill Therefore, some important techniques to improve the efficiency of Commercial news interpretation from English to Vietnamese are proposed This study will be a reference for students and teachers of the English Faculty at TMU In particular, it can help improve the academic performance of students majoring in English Faculty as well as support their future work in the field of 34 36 CHAPTER 1: OVERVIEW OF THE STUDY 1.1 Rationale of the study  In the age of global integration, the need for mutual understanding among countries in the world has been increasing However, different languages are significant communicative barriers Possessing interpreting skills, which are regarded as a bridge for human communication engagement, is an efficient way to break down these barriers As a result, interpreting is becoming a more appealing and promising professional option However, the work of interpreting is not only demanding but also challenging Interpreting is an obligatory subject for all English majors at Thuongmai University It is considered a hard and challenging subject To achieve the best results, learners need to have good English foundation knowledge such as listening skills, grammar, and vocabulary The professor splits the course into numerous different study parts in the interpreting major Commercial news interpretation should be one of them Commercial news interpretation is an essential subject for students majoring in business English Students are trained in a variety of ways, including interpreting by listening to trade news, translating oral documents, and so on, through which they will hone a variety of skills relevant to their major This ensures that when students graduate and start working, they will have the necessary skills and commercial knowledge to a good job 1.2 Previous studies  There have been many studies conducted both abroad and in Vietnam on the factors influencing English interpretation The studies in Vietnam, however, focus primarily on interpreting from Vietnamese into English because it is more difficult than interpreting from English into Vietnamese Despite that, English-Vietnamese interpreting is always the premise for any interpreting beginners As a result, I'd like to conduct research on the difficulties and errors in English to Vietnamese Commercial news interpretation for third-year English majors at Thuongmai University However, it is also my pleasure and honor to introduce some previous studies that are related to my study topic to make my study more detailed and reliable for the readers.  1.2.1 Forgein studies  Dalia Mankauskienė, (2009), the problems and difficulties in simultaneous interpreting from the point of view of skill acquisition.  The purpose of this study is to examine the process of simultaneous interpreting that can be viewed as an equation of four efforts: hearing and analysis, short-term memory, production, and coordination of the other three As a result, every time they interpret, simultaneous interpreters must overcome personal mental limits Failure to so causes a variety of interpretive errors, including additions, omissions, generalizations, and substitutions The paper investigates the problems (objective obstacles) and difficulties (subjective hurdles) that simultaneous interpreters face at various phases of their careers in order to identify universalities and address skill acquisition issues The findings are based on an experiment in which 18 interpreters simultaneously interpreted the identical extract from a real conference.  This study has made conclusions about comprehension issues, which are frequently related to the interpreter's lack of understanding of the discussion topic or his lack of knowledge of the subject terminology All of the interpretative issues listed above are addressed by the basic idea of the training activities presented in this article 1.2.2 Studies in Vietnam The research “Insights from Difficulties Encountered among Students Whose Major is Translation and Interpreting in English” (2021) was conducted by Truong Thi Mai Hanh.  This article reports initial findings from a  case study done with the students taking an English for Banking and Finance course at Van Lang University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam The subject of this study was 40 students enrolled in the course who were tapped to participate in the investigation With ages ranging from 20-21, the participants were majoring in Translation and Interpreting in English in the 4-year regular education curriculum offered by the Faculty of Linguistics and Literature at the university In light of the findings, the following conclusions can be drawn problems in terms of vocabulary continue to be an obstacle for learners in performing different reading tasks.  That is to say, “It seemed that English competence was not the obstacle the students had to overcome in this situation It was specialized knowledge that hindered their learning.” However, getting equivalence in Vietnamese for an English term seems to be not the utmost task It is much clearer in the study “Short-term memory in English to Vietnamese interpreting for students of Faculty of Foreign Languages”(2011) conducted by Hoang Thi Thanh Van at Hai Phong Private University.  The problems students have when rehearsing, techniques, and using short-term memory in English to Vietnamese consecutive interpreting are demonstrated in this study The current situation of English majors' implementation of this skill is discussed Some student flaws were highlighted in this research Several approaches were created to assist students in achieving better results in English to Vietnamese consecutive interpreting and other types of interpretation work To sum up, the previous studies in English-Vietnamese interpretation revealed that students have some problems However, instead of conducting studies on a specialized topic, earlier studies are undertaken in a broad manner The current study differs in that it is concerned with factors influencing English-Vietnamese commercial news interpretation and the participation of
