The most extensive catalog of the world's languages, the ethnologue, whose detailed classified list currently includes 7,139 distinct languages The appearance of a common language, which can be seen as the second language that all people around the world can use to exchange ideas with each other in order to meet the demand of the global standards in the today's world, is really pressing In this background, English - a universal language at present can be used as the unique tool satisfying this demand The role of English is more and more asserted, especially in the booming age of information and technology English can be considered as the prevailing language by the way it dominates every domain and maybe the only language that truly links the whole world together Without English, people cannot understand each other more in the process of diplomatic relation and economic cooperation and many other fields in today's era when the country tend to integrate for the whole development We cannot list how much benefit that English brings for us Its beneficial is unlimited Therefore, studying English is a good way to contact with the huge world and approach a boundless source of information Today, when every country from the world overcomes the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and has a problem with a large amount of unemployment, everyone needs to push their career awards Its knowledge can get one’s dream job in any international company, earn more money, and use computer more effectively, because most computer programs are in English, too However, just knowing English is not enough Sometimes, a person who can speak, listen and read English does not mean he or she understands it carefully One more problem that we have to face here is the necessity of translating skills When Vietnam has entered the integration period, it has more and more requirements for Vietnamese people especially students to have expert translation skills Nowadays, more and more contracts, emails, or newspapers are in English, so it is necessary to master translation to translate documents exactly in order to avoid regrettable misunderstanding Moreover, to master translation is not easy, so not almost all learners can avoid mistakes When translating English into our mother tongue, it is not only translating the words we are reading but also the meaning and the overall purpose of the text as a whole As learners, the researchers assume that almost all learners who begin to study written translation will meet many challenges because it is so new and strange for their first time contact, and there is no exception for students majoring in Thuong mai University, especially when they have faced English Economic news which have many complex sentences This is the reason we carry out this research with the hope that the study will be a useful reference helping improve translation skill as well as handle the students’ difficulties when translating complex sentences in English Economic news to get the best result 1.2 Previous studies About “difficulties of translation of learner”, I found many research First, it is “Common mistakes in learning translation subject by the secondyear English major at Dong Thap university” of Duong Thi Thuy Hang and Nguyen Thi Cam Xuyen There were four main chapters in the thesis The literature review was based on themes such as translation, translation importance, variables impacting translation process, and frequent mistakes in Vietnamese - English translation Research topics, research participants, study processes, and data collecting tools were all part of the research techniques In Chapter 3, the collected results were identified and analyzed, and the sources of the inaccuracies were discovered The fourth chapter offered some tips to help students avoid making such mistakes Because translation was a difficult process, it was proposed that students should concentrate as much as possible on their methods of self-study and application of translation strategies in order to discover their best methods for learning translation efficiently According to the study, “It will be easier and smoother in their Vietnamese – English translating if the students take the time to study the source language text carefully, write an analysis of it, and then look for the equivalent way in which the same message is expressed naturally in the receptor language” The next study is “English majored students difficulties and expectations in learning written translation at Dong Thap University”, written by Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, Bui Thi Huyen Tran This study illustrated the significance of translation As a result, by endeavoring to translate the text as faithfully and precisely as possible, the translator plays a crucial role as a bilingual or multilingual cross-cultural transmitter of culture and concept Types of translation, tactics, some beneficial approaches, elements impacting the translation process, and typical faults in written translation were all covered in this study Its methodology included research questions, research participants, data collection instruments and research procedures The researchers were thus able to get a broad picture of the virtual environment and make ideas to aid English majors in their translation studies Another study is “Unnaturalness in English – Vietnamese translation: causes and cures” of Le Phuong Lan Unnaturalness in translation, as well as the classification of errors that generate unnaturalness, were defined in this study Unnaturalness was created by two factors: linguistic and cultural Word level, phrase level, sentence level, and linguistic untranslatability were all part of the linguistic aspect For the cultural aspect, there are the translation of idioms and fixed expressions, translation of connotations and classic allusions, and cultural untranslatability The study revealed the reasons of unnatural translation and provided a general and translator-specific review of the current state of Vietnamese translated works, their strengths and weaknesses, and recommendations for improvement Many different researchers from all around the world have studied the topic of “complex sentences” First, it is “To translate and adapt a text with long sentences with focus on readability”, written by Anna Nyqvist This study was to analyze how sentence structure, noun phrases, and connectors may be used to modify an academic book with long sentences for a broader target reading audience while translating from English to Swedish In this study, five complicated sentences were utilized in the source text, but only one sentence was used in the target text Based on these features, the matching sentences from the target text were studied and debated Second, Juan Zou was at Hubei University, Wuhan, China with the study “On the translation of long and complex English sentences” The focus of this research was on translating long and complicated phrases from English to Chinese There were several points The term “long and complex sentence” refers to three types of compounds: paralleling long sentence, compound long sentence and paralleling and compound long sentence Paralleling long sentence, which consists of two or more clauses with complete sentence structure and no affiliation Compound long sentence consists of a principal clause and some other sub-clauses such as noun clauses, attributive clauses, adverbial clauses, and so on Paralleling and compound long sentence is the most complicated with the features of both paralleling and compound sentences Long complex English sentences have a lot of clauses, a complicated grammatical structure, and a lot of prepositional phrases Cultural factors, distinct language families, and diverse language styles all contribute to the difficulties of long complex English sentences They have specifically looked at the contents of language difference, including word translation, translation unit, sentence order, and connecting word translation The author also discussed two distinct language patterns, such as the seven-sentence structure pattern and Chinese grammar theory Besides, a basic understanding of translation theory is also required Finally, Tatiana V Emets, Iuliia V Baryshnikova, Alexey Yu Trutnev, Elena V Suvorova, and Tatiana L Akhmetzyanova published “Logical and linguistic techniques for translating difficult phrases in literary texts of natural languages.” The goal of this study was to take a more comprehensive look of inferences in German and Russian, both as a logical category and as a logical-linguistic component of complicated sentences The researchers looked at German language content on a logical and linguistic level and came up with three models for constructing complicated sentences This research looked at logical and linguistic translation procedures from German to Russian ...
