Material handling systems are an essential element of the manufacturing process These systems are responsible for movement, storage, and control of materials and goods This includes the transfer of materials through the manufacturing process, distribution, consumption, and disposal Systems must be designed to fit the meets of manufacturers, transportation providers, warehouse facilities, retail sales outlets, and consumers A one-size-fits-all system will not be the most cost effective way to manage most material handling 47 2019/12/8 What is the difference between the two basic types of movement systems?
