The following scholarships are offered by outside organizations forMBA students. The
Haas School of Business provides this information as a service to our prospective and
current students. The list is loosely organized by eligibility as noted by the organization
providing the scholarship, and only includes scholarshipsfor which Berkeley MBA
students are eligible. The scholarships are organized by the following eligibility types:
• New MBAstudents enrolling at Haas only
• Any incoming MBAstudents
• New women MBAstudents
• New minority MBAstudents
• New international MBAstudents
• New Gay & Lesbian MBAstudents
• MBAstudents in particular career/discipline areas (Finance, Marketing, etc.)

Infusion Fellowship Program
Infusion’s goal is to revitalize minority communities through education, economic
development, and community empowerment. Infusion awards fellowships in the
amount of $5,000 to $10,000 per year to students of color attending UC
Berkeley’s Haas School of Business who have demonstrated interest and
commitment to working in underserved communities. To be considered for this
fellowship, you must be an entering student in the Full-time MBA program.

The scholarships are intended to reinforce the mission and vision of AMCF and
to highlight the importance of the role that today’s students will play in the life of
tomorrow’s industry. The candidate must demonstrate academic distinction
through leadership, academic excellence, and citizenship.

The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
This is a $20,000 maintenance grant and ½ tuition grant for new Americans who
retain loyalty and a sense of commitment to thir country of origin as well as to the
United states and will continue to regard the US as their principal residence and
focus of national identity. Application date is usually in November.

Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship
The Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship of $10,000 is awarded to a graduate student
who is enrolled in full-time master's study preparing for a career in state and local
government finance. This scholarship is funded by the Government Finance
Officers Association and the Girard Miller Foundation.
Eligibility:
Currently a full-time student in a graduate program that prepares studentsfor
careers in state and local government finance and expecting to be
• enrolled in the spring semester of the year for which the scholarship is
awarded (including graduates of that spring semester).
• Baccalaureate degree or its equivalent.
• Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada.
• Recommendation from student's academic advisor or dean of the
graduate program.
• Student has not been a past winner of a scholarship administered by the
Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and
Canada.

George A. Nielsen Public Investor Scholarship
The Public Investor Scholarship of $5,000 (may be two awards of $2,500 each) is
awarded to an employee of a local government or other public entity who is
enrolled or plans to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program in public
administration, finance, business administration, or related field. The purpose of
the Public Investor Scholarship is to support the studies of full- or part-time
undergraduate or graduate students with career interests in the efficient and
productive investment of public funds. full-time master's study preparing for a
career in state and local government finance. This scholarship is funded by the
Government Finance Officers Association and the Girard Miller Foundation.
Eligibility:
Currently a full-time student in a graduate program that prepares studentsfor
careers in state and local government finance and expecting to be enrolled in the
spring semester of the year for which the scholarship is given.

The Institute for Humane Studies awards scholarships up to $12,000 for
undergraduate or graduate study in the United States or abroad. Last year HIS
awarded more than 100 scholarships to outstanding undergraduates, graduate
students, law students, and professional students who are interested in the
classical liberal tradition.

Chela Financial

Chela Financial is the nation’s largest not-for-profit student lender. Through this
year’s Money Matters Scholarship Contest, $100,000 will be awarded in
scholarships to current undergraduate and graduate students. There will be 20
scholarships up to $5,000 each. Need to write a short essay, maximum 300
words on “How I am Financing My College Education.” The application must be
submitted online.

Awards for graduate students pursuing master’s degrees in one of the areas
listed above. Applicants must b U.S. citizens and have a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Recipients must agree to serve the government one calendar year for each year
they were provided a scholarship. The amount varies: $13,000 - $15,000

The Educational foundation administers the largest career assistance program of
its kind for the foodservice and hospitality industry. Each year, The Foundation
awards nearly 200 scholarships valued at approximately $30,000.

The Kosciuszko Foundation awards over one million dollars in grants and
scholarship to Americans of Polish descent for education every year.
Applications for Tuition Scholarships, Year Abroad Scholarships, and Graduate-
postgraduate Studies and Research Grants are available online through
December.
Management of Technology Research Fellows Program
Paid fellowships of four to six months duration will be made available to up to six
graduate students. The team chooses their topic of research but it has to involve
both management challenges and the introduction of technologies into the
market.

The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and the American
Academy of Sanitarians (AAS) have established education in environmental
health as one of their principle goals. Structured education at the undergraduate
and graduate levels is most important to an individual’s professional development
for work in this field. Continuing education is a vital component in an
environmental health professional’s career. The graduate scholarship is
available to those students or career professionals who are enrolled in a
graduate program of studies in environmental health sciences and/or public
health.

Two $5,00 fellowship awards, administered by the Lester Center for
Entrepreneurship
And Innovation, are awarded each year to eligible students interested in an
entrepreneurial career. Students must have at least one year of study remaining
toward their MBA degree.

Medical and graduate student scholarships. The Foundation assists students
studying in standard academic programs on a traditional academic calendar.
Must have originally graduated from a high school in Santa Barbara County, CA,
or an adult re-entry student who has resided in Santa Barbara, CA for at least 3
years as a non-student. Must be full-time medical student or graduate student
during the same academic year at an approved U.S. college or university.

Scholarship recipients will be honored at the FWA’s Woman of the Year luncheon and

Chicana/Latina Foundation Scholarships
This organization provides $1,500 scholarships to Chicana/Latina women at the
undergraduate and graduate level. Applications are evaluated based on commitment to
Latina women’s progress and development, demonstrated leadership qualities,
involvement within the Latino communication, clarity of direction and goals, academic
achievement, and letters of recommendation.
