it originated, does it make sense to warn that person? If so, why and if not, then why not? There is no unambiguous answer to this one, you will have to decide for yourself: Yes, to prevent others from being infected as well No, because the e-mail address is probably fake Can an antivirus program remove all viruses with absolute certainty? No, sometimes you can only quarantine infected files What is better: - to scan the computer once a week for viruses; - to run a virus scanning program in the background; - to apply both of the methods above Apply both methods Theory question: Antivirus software update Is it necessary to update antivirus software daily? Yes, new viruses appear daily Explain what happens when antivirus software is updated By updating the antivirus program, the virus definition list is renewed in order for new viruses to be recognized Assignment: Backup Step 1: Yes, because data can be lost due to damage or accidental deletion of files and folders The computer could be stolen, or a fire could break out The computer could be infected by an irremovable virus, the hard disk could be damaged irreparably Or there could be a devastating power outage Step 2: No, because theft or fire could cause both the original and the backup to be lost Step 3: Install operating system 1-268 Basic skills LearningGuide Solutions B.V Install applications Restore all data (this is a problem if you have no backup or file copies) Restore Internet favorites and e-mail files (this is also a problem if you have no backup or copies) Install antivirus software Set up Internet and network connections Assignment: Antivirus software Step 1: the antivirus program the virus definition list Step 2: by running in the background by scanning all files on the computer one at a time Step 3: New viruses appear daily In order for them to be recognized, you must update the virus definition list on a daily basis This is achieved by updating the antivirus program Assignment: Virus infection Step 1: By using illegal software By loading an infected program from an external source (USB-stick, DVD and CD-ROM) Downloaded programs from the network or from the internet can also be infected Step 2: Sometimes, there could be indications that a virus is present For example, your computer could suddenly become very slow, or the free disk space suddenly decreases rapidly Or file names could suddenly change or disappear without warning, file dates and sizes are modified 14.9 Case System settings and security Case: User interface and managing files Solution step 2: Use Snap: drag the windows each to a side of the screen Solution step 10: Windows will notice the file was moved and searches the hard disks for its new location 1-269 Index A Action Center Action Center 1-200 Aero Peek Aero Peek 1-62 Aero Shake Aero Peek 1-62 Aero Shake
