JOB OPENING FOR SUPERVISOR OF CHILD NUTRITION MOREHOUSE PARISH SCHOOL SYSTEM JOB VACANCY COMPENSATION DATES TO APPLY : Supervisor of Child Nutrition : 12/9 of Teacher Salary Schedule plus Supervisor’s Index : March 10, 2021 through March 24, 2021 at 4:00 p.m HOW TO APPLY : Complete MPSB’s General Application The form is available at the Morehouse Parish Central Office, or online at http://www.mpsb.us/job- openings Attach a detailed resume, a copy of your college transcripts, and any relevant documents that support any experience or qualifications you may have as an applicant WHERE TO APPLY : Personnel Office (by mail or hand deliver) Morehouse Parish School Board P.O Box 872 4099 Naff Avenue Bastrop, Louisiana 71221-0872 Application must be postmarked by March 24, 2021, if mailed You may also send it via email to personnel@mpsb.us Applicants will be notified of an interview schedule during the week beginning March 29, 2021 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent educational experience, with academic major or concentration in food & nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or related field REPORTS TO: Superintendent or Superintendent’s Designee JOB SUMMARY The Supervisor of Child Nutrition is responsible for administrating, planning, assessing, implementing, and evaluating the program in order to meet the nutritional and educational needs of children as they relate to CNP in accordance with the district and state requirements / policies PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, organize, and establish long and short range goals in keeping with federal, state, and local policies Assist principals in the interpretation and implementation of all federal and state laws pertaining to Child Nutrition Programs Ensure that collection procedures utilized in individual schools have been approved by the Louisiana State Agency Review free and reduced price meal applications to ascertain validity; ensure that proper documentation is available to support this validity Establish and maintain high standards for food preparation and service Develop and implement an in-service training program for all food service personnel Develop, initiate, and interpret a nutrition education program and coordinate nutrition and education opportunities for students, teaching staff, parents, and the community Inspect school lunch facilities and operations to ensure that standards of diet, cleanliness, health, and safety are being maintained Review all requests and recommendations for purchase of new and replacement equipment 10 Prepare specifications and bid conditions for all items requiring such bids by law or board policy 11 Consult, as needed, with school planners and architects on plans and specifications for new or renovated food preparation centers 12 Interview, screen and recommend appointment of all cafeteria personnel 13 Plan and supervise the preparation and serving of menus at all schools 14 Prepare a professional growth plan 15 Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
