Associate Director for Development, College of Natural Sciences Please visit this link to apply and review full job description The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a talented and highly collaborative Associate Director for Development for the College of Natural Sciences The Associate Director will play an important role for the College by working in close partnership with the top prospects and donors to secure philanthropic support for the Dean’s initiatives The UT Austin College of Natural Sciences has 11 graduate programs and specializations ranked in the top 10 nationally, spanning the physical sciences, life sciences, computer science and mathematics About 350 tenured and tenure-track faculty members teach and undertake research in the college’s 12 independent departments and School of Human Ecology, as well as at the McDonald Observatory in West Texas and the Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas The College has the largest student population at UT Austin, with more than 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students It is home to awardwinning and nationally recognized STEM education programs, including the Freshman Research Initiative and UTeach Among the College’s faculty are numerous members of the National Academies and winners of the Turing Award, Wolf Prize, National Medal of Science, Nobel Prize and MacArthur Fellowship The College has more than 78,000 living alumni and a strong base of individual, corporate and foundation donors Responsibilities • Conduct in-person visits with prospective donors, including out-of-town travel Arrange schedules and host prospects and donors for on-campus visits Responsible for travel and visit preparations including schedules, itineraries, maps, and visit information • Execute plan to solicit major gifts from individuals Develop, write, and present comprehensive fundraising proposals to prospective donors • Manage a portfolio of individual major gift prospects and donors; focusing on individuals with gift capacity of $100,000 and above Maintain appropriate electronic documentation in a timely manner, including proposal tracking, contact reports, and forecasting Develop timely reports, letters, proposals, or gift agreements following a contact Meet monthly goals for all types of prospect contacts and proposals • Work with CNS Chief Development Officer, Department Chairs and faculty to identify, analyze and develop targeted fundraising initiatives, and to set fundraising goals and objectives Work with volunteer boards, task forces, or alumni to achieve development goals of the College • Collaborate with college and development professionals to support interdisciplinary projects and to maintain collegial working relationships Participate in appropriate development meetings and college and university events • • Work with other university development professionals and the University Development Office to coordinate development activities and projects in complete accordance with university development policies Operate within the prospect management system Other related functions as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Five years of professional development experience, of which 2+ years should include experience with working "front line" with individuals to cultivate and close major and planned gifts Demonstrated ability to work systematically to conduct prospecting visits and manage ongoing relationships with a large number of alumni and friends in order to identify potential donors who can make major gifts of $100,000 and more to CNS Ability to travel to visit prospects and donors Demonstrated development writing experience along with experience in strategic and tactical management of a development program Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a disciplined and sequential way to meet specific funding objectives Ability to take initiative and work independently Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate Salary Range $72,000 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions • May work around standard office conditions • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation • Use of manual dexterity • Ability and willingness to travel To Apply Go to https://utaustin.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/UTstaff for complete description and to apply for job requisition number R_00016564 ...
