Board Goffstown, N H., February 154 17, 1939 REPORT OF THE CEMETERY TRUSTEES The past year has been a favorable one for the lawns in our cemeteries The rainfall the past Summer was above the average and consequently they required mowing more often, thereby increasing somewhat The September hurricane the cost of care also caused extra labor to up the debris At West Lawn, some of the spruces planted beside the drives, which had grown to such a size as to become a clean nuisance, were removed, adding to the looks of the ceme- and greatly increasing the width of tery In the drives near future more of them will have to be removed as they not only encroach upon the drives but their shade tends to stain the monuments and other markers At Hillside Cemetery the same standard of upkeep was maintained and some improvements were made many years new drives will have to be built Before and lawns laid out At Shirley Hill the additional land obtained has been by a new stone wall and it is hoped that coming Summer it will be completed in compliance partially enclosed the with the wishes of its donors During the past year we have received substantial contributions to the perpetual care funds, showing there is a continued interest manifest in having our cemeteries well cared for in the future FRANK A PARKER, EARLE WESTGATE, FRANK A SIMONS, GREGG, GEORGE L EATON, LOUIS R Trustees 157
