We will have all of the new Wilson demos available to try and will be offering discounted prices for racquets purchased at this event This is a Team Event Four co-ed teams will be competing for prizes 4th of July Club Championship Tournament Play begins on Friday evening, June 28th Quarter-final and semi-final play will be held Friday through Sunday, with finals on Tuesday, July 4th Specific times will be e-mailed to the membership for interested spectators Come out and enjoy drinks and snacks while watching the finals Events include men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles (Doubles pairings will be made by Tom for this event.) To participate in this event you must be available to play the weekend of July 1st and also on July 4th (depending on the size of the draws) Labor Day Team Event Monday, September 2nd 9:00 – 11:30 am Team Play 11:30 am – 12:30 pm Light Breakfast/Awards Four co-ed teams will compete in a team tennis format A light breakfast and awards ceremony will follow This is a competitive event utilizing team tennis rules A more detailed preview of this event will be available in the pro shop Stagettes, Stags, & Couples Mixers Women’s Stagette May 16th August 16th Men’s Stagette June 13th August 8th Couples Stag July 19th These themed parties are set up with the help of members A limited number of spots are available for each of these events, so sign up early Contact Tom if you would like to be a Member-Host for one of these events **Guests are welcome at each stag/stagette event When signing up, please let Tom know of any guests that you will be bringing There will be a charge for both dinner and prizes for each event ** Leagues Women's Tri-Level: Tuesdays Dates for the WOMEN'S Tri-Level competitions are: June 5, 12 and 19, July 10, 17, and 24 Doubles play will begin at 6:00 pm each of sessions = $425 Must sign up by May 1st to receive this discount Individual session cost is $250 for each week session Drop-in rate is $30 per clinic Junior Team Tennis (JTT) Junior Team tennis league plays competitive events against the other tennis clubs in Cedar Rapids The schedule will be determined at a later date Practices are held every Wednesday from 1:002:30pm, beginning June 12th JTT meets will be held on Friday afternoons from 1:00-3:00 pm (unless otherwise scheduled) Cost for JTT participation is $85 for the entire summer and includes practices, meet participation and a team shirt To play in JTT, you must be able to serve and keep score without any assistance Ask Tom if you have questions regarding whether your child is ready to participate in this league Tennis Clinic Policies All clinics are subject to change or cancellation based on the number of sign-ups All clinics will be billed through the CRCC billing system There will be NO refunds once the clinic session has begun Clinics will be billed for packages on the first day of clinic Pre-season discounts specials will be billed on the deadline date Rules & Regulations 2019 Tennis Rules The tennis program is arranged and supervised by the Tennis Committee, and tennis activities are under the direction of the Tennis Professional The rules are set up to provide as much play and enjoyment as possible for everyone It is the responsibility of the staff on duty to enforce the tennis rules, and all players are urged to comply Any questions regarding the rules should be directed to the Chairperson, Tennis Committee or the Tennis Professional, preferably in writing TENNIS PRO SHOP HOURS Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Saturday 8:00 am to 7:00 pm Sunday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm **Pro-shop may close early if there are no reservations COURT AVAILABILITY A The courts will be open for play from 7:30 am until dark with the following exceptions: Court “service” will not be available on Sundays until 8:30 am The lighted court can be used until 10:00 pm Clay courts are not available until 8:00 am daily B The clay courts will be closed for maintenance each day from noon until 1:00 pm and from 4:30 pm- 5:30 pm C The courts may not be used when they are unfit for play due to weather or repairs D The courts may not be used when scheduled tournaments or lessons are in progress E The ball machine is available for $5.00 per half hour, and is not to be used during prime playing time RESERVATIONS DURING THE SEASON WHEN TENNIS PRO SHOP IS STAFFED A Reservations for courts may be made up to one (1) on-line On-line reservations may be made through the club’s website on the Tennis tab B Time and court will be recorded on the reservation sheet in the office and posted in the Tennis Pro Shop by 9:00 am the day of play C Court reservations on the day of play are made in person by signing the sheet in the Tennis Pro Shop No phone reservations can be taken on the day of play because the office personnel not have ready access to the reservation sheet ATTIRE A Non-marking shoes must be worn on the courts by players at all times B All tennis players are required to wear shirts when playing tennis Playing is not permitted in swimsuits or blue jean cut-offs C Glasses, bottles, dishes and other breakable items are not allowed in court areas GUESTS Guests must be accompanied by a Member Members bringing guests will be charged $10 per guest and will be required to register their guests at the Tennis Pro Shop Guests may play no more than six (6) times each year Registered houseguests are permitted unlimited use of the tennis courts and Clubhouse amenities Applicable daily guest fees apply Refer to the “houseguest” Club policy Unaccompanied Dependents Dependents requiring supervision may not be left unattended in the Pro Shop or in the immediate tennis area around the courts The spirit of this rule is to provide a tennis environment that does not disrupt the players or staff from doing their jobs Furthermore, dependents of any age should not loiter in the tennis area creating distractions to the players Westfield Tennis Information Westfield Tennis Club: $250 per Day Weekend through Labor Day Pool Hours* Sunday–Thursday 10:00am–8:00pm Friday–Saturday 10:00am–9:00pm Lap swimming is available during pool hours upon request of a guard to clear a lane Cabana Hours* Daily 11:00am–7:00pm Friday & Saturday extended bar hours 7:00pm–9:00pm *Operating hours are subject to weather conditions During Club sanctioned swim meets the pool will be closed, except to those participating in the swim meet At all other times or in the event of poor or threatening weather, the Swimming Pool will be closed Use of the pool facilities (including pool, basketball court, Cabana and surrounding grounds) is restricted to C.R.C.C members and their immediate families (including Regular, Junior, Non-Resident, Special and Interim Members collectively hereafter “Members”) expect as otherwise provided herein Pool Closures for Home Swim Team Meets Cedar Rapids Country Club has a competitive swim team and as a result, there is one day this summer when the pool hours will be changed The pool will be closed the following days after 3:30 pm The pool will open at the conclusion of the meet until 10:00 pm 12 Pool Events Fourth of July Pool Party This fun-filled family day has something for everyone The pool opens at 10:00am, and games will be held in the afternoon Highlights include hoola hoop contests, relays, splash contests, a special on-deck bar, a buffet on the terrace, cotton candy, popcorn and face painting on the playground The pool will remain open until 6:00pm Make sure to mark this date on your calendar; it’s our favorite day at the Club! Summer Kick Off- First Friday Social Join us for this fun, casual, outdoor party for all adults of the Club First Friday Social will be held on the pool deck with Member Charge dinner to follow Final details and pricing TBD Yappy Hour This party is for the dogs! Yappy Hour is a fun social event for our canine members and their parents It is the perfect opportunity for dog lovers to mix and mingle while their four-legged friends socialize with their buddies and take a refreshing swim in the CRCC pool! Though the pool is closed to the human-owners for the season, your pooch can enjoy one last dip This cocktail party for “pooch & pal” would not be complete without beverages for our partygoers to enjoy 13 Swim Team Swim Team Mission Statement The Cedar Rapids Country Club Swim Team offers swimmers of all abilities an opportunity to develop and build strong team and swimming skills in a competitive, supportive and positive social environment Cedar Rapids Country Club Swimmers Get geared up for another great summer at CRCC! We are extremely excited to welcome you to this season’s swim team You will have a great summer filled with swimming, fun and competition We want you to have fun, work hard, try new things, give it your all and keep a positive attitude Coaches will train the team on starts, finishes, flip turns and perfecting each of the swim competition strokes The coaches will support you 100% of the way Let’s work together and have a rewarding, successful and fun summer! Parents You play an extremely important role on our team, from cheering on your swimmer to helping the season run smoothly Whatever help you can give to your dependent or to the team is extremely appreciated Coaches will be reaching out to parents to help with swim meets or other team activities Thank you for helping to make your dependent’s experiences successful! Requirements The requirement to be a member of the swim team is to be able to swim one length of the pool without assistance If a swimmer is not able to this, the Club offers lessons to prepare the child to join the team Swim Practice Beginning Monday, June 3, swim practice will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 3:00–4:00pm years and under 4:00–5:00pm years and older Swimmers may move up or down a level depending on the best possible placement for their development as a swimmer Please call the guardhouse if you have questions about practice due to weather We will NOT practice if it is below 60 degrees We will not swim if there is lightning or thunder during practice times Swim Meets Schedule & locations to be announced Swim meets are on most Tuesdays in June and July at 5:00pm, with the final All City Meet on Saturday morning in mid-July The meet schedule will be announced as soon as it is available to us Everyone is encouraged to participate in the meets They give swimmers the opportunity to compete in a friendly atmosphere, foster team bonding and meet competitors from other teams Communication Communication is the key to any successful team Please call or email Nolan Armstrong, nrmstrong@cedarrapidscc.com with any questions or concerns you might have CRCC Pool Number: 319-364-1143 Cost $150 per swimmer, unless participating in the full season of Kids’ Camp, where swim team is included in the camp rates Fees include swim meets, officials’ fees, swimsuit, ribbons 14 Swim Meets Everyone is encouraged to participate in the meets They give swimmers the opportunity to compete in a friendly atmosphere, foster team bonding and meet competitors from other teams General Information     There are four regular season dual meets held on Tuesdays (see schedule) At home meets, swimmers need to be at CRCC at 3:45 pm There is not transportation to any away meets There is an All-City meet on July 18th that we highly recommend General Meet Rules If a swimmer is disqualified at the meet, they are ineligible for meet awards During all meets, a disqualification may be called for the following:  Leaving the start too early (false starting)  Doing the wrong stroke  One handed touch finishes or turns in the breaststroke and butterfly  Touching the bottom or pulling on the lane lines  Rolling over onto your stomach before finishing the backstroke  Doing more than one underwater pull on a breaststroke start or turn  Doing the wrong kick on breaststroke  Separating the feet on a butterfly kick Meet Awards Heat ribbons will be given to the winner of each heat (to a swimmer that does not disqualify) at every meet Place ribbons will be given to swimmers placing first through sixth for each eventnot heat Meet Schedule TBD 15 Swimming Lessons Outstanding lessons are our highest priority! Male and female instructors will be available for lessons this summer All instructors have extensive swimming backgrounds and are excellent with children Lessons can be scheduled with the Swim Coach in the Guard House Lesson Fees: Private Lessons (1 students per instructor) $20 per 30-minute lesson Semi-Private Lessons (2+ students per instructor) $15 per 30-minute lesson, per student Contact the Pool Manager for more information Mommy or Daddy & Me Mommy or Daddy & Me swimming classes are offered as a way to get our youngest in the water and still have that much needed support from a parent A dedicated instructor will lead the group in basic water skills, ranging from putting toes in the water, blowing bubbles, submerging heads and much more Saturdays in June & July (June - July 27) 363-9673, and we will be happy to sign you up 16 Pool Rules & Regulations POOL SEASON The swimming pool will be open daily from Memorial Day Weekend (May 27 at 10:00 am) through Labor Day (September 4th at 8:00 pm) POOL USE Use of the pool facilities (including pool, basketball court, Cabana and surrounding grounds) is restricted to CRCC members and their immediate families GENERAL CONDUCT The general rules of conduct for the use of the pool facilities are: No running/horseplay/fighting/inappropriate language No hanging on ropes/lap lanes or playing in lap lane Starting blocks for swim team use only No sitting on others shoulders No diving in shallow end One bounce only on diving board, no inward dives or reverse dives, one person on board at a time Each patron under the age of 14 must take a deep end test before being allowed on the diving boards This consists of 25 yards front crawl with rhythmic breathing and 30 seconds of treading water No flotation devices in deep end unless going off of the diving board and the person has taken the test Guard/manager has authority to limit or revoke diving board/pool privileges due to safety concerns Water chairs may not be fully submerged/or used as flotation device Umbrellas to be used with extreme caution on windy days due to safety precautions No patrons permitted in pump house at any time or behind desk in guard house Patrons are responsible for the actions and behaviors of their guests Pool games are to be played safely, if safety concerns arise, guard/manager have authority to limit or revoke game play No bikes, skateboards, scooters, or roller blades permitted in pool area No pets permitted in pool area All children in diapers must wear swim diapers while in the pool area GUEST POLICY A guest shall be anyone other than Members or Members’ unmarried children under 24 years of age Members must accompany their guests and are responsible for their guests following established rules and guidelines Guests are limited to six (6) pool visits total per year Each guest entering the pool area, regardless of entering the water, must be accompanied by a CRCC Member who must register such guest at the designated check-in table upon entering the pool area Guests will be charged $5.00 per guest over the age of four (4) per visit when using the pool 17 Nannies or summer-sitters must receive season passes at the pool guardhouse or pay a $5.00 guest fee with each entry Nanny passes apply only to the hours when the nanny is performing his or her job duties Normal guest fees apply to the use of pool facilities at any other time While nanny passes may be shared if a member has multiple nannies, only one nanny can be present per visit Only the nanny is covered by the nanny pass Registered houseguests are permitted unlimited use of the pool Applicable daily guest fees apply Refer to the “houseguest” Club policy Houseguests must still register in the guardhouse upon entering the pool area Under certain circumstances guest passes are available through the Membership office to permit unaccompanied guest use of the facilities Generally, this privilege is limited to houseguests of Members, and will be permitted only with advanced approval of the General Manager The General Manager, or person designated by the General Manager, may, at any time, deny or allow guest privileges to any individual when, in their opinion, it is in the best interest of the Club The Board of Directors reserves the right to limit the number of guests that a Member may have on holidays, on holiday weekends, or for special events DEEP END REGULATIONS There are inherent risks in aquatic environments and lifeguards are trained to respond to aquatic emergencies A lifeguard’s primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: monitoring activities in and near the water with patron surveillance, preventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors, enforcing rules and regulations and educating patrons about them, recognizing and responding quickly and effectively to all emergencies, and administering first aid and CPR or using an AED in an emergency CRCC lifeguards use the recommended Red Cross guidelines to maintain a safe atmosphere for all Members and their guests at any time in the pool area Lifeguards and management will test every person under the age of 14 daily with a swim test before allowing access to the deep end or middle depth This test will include 25 yards of front crawl with rhythmic breathing and 30 seconds of treading water After each member or guest completes the test they will be permitted to use the middle and deep end of the pool without an adult present Each lifeguard who administers the test will be responsible for recording the name and age of the person who took the test as well as the date of the test to document who has or has not taken a test If, after taking the test, a parent would feel more comfortable with his or her child wearing water wings or a life jacket when using the diving board, the child will be allowed to so The test must be taken without water wings or a life jacket and the child must pass In addition, any person over the age of 14 can be tested at the discretion of management Each patron over 14 will assume some limited risk by going off the diving boards without a swim test 18 Cedar Rapids Country Saturday 5:00 a.m – 10:00 p.m Sunday 5:00 a.m – 4:00 p.m Monday 5:00 a.m – 7:00 p.m Times may vary during the Annual Shutdown period Fitness Rules & Regulations GENERAL RULES OF CONDUCT A You use this room at your own risk The Cedar Rapids Country Club provides no supervising, instructing, or monitoring of use of this room or equipment B No one under 13 years of age can use the Exercise Room or its equipment Young adults 13 to 14 years of age may use the Exercise Room and its equipment with adult supervision All persons over 15 years of age may use the Exercise Room and its equipment without any supervision C As a courtesy, out of state guests of members may use the Exercise Room and its equipment when accompanied by a member Members & their guests must sign in the attendance book located in the Fitness Center D Obtain a physician’s approval before exercising or use of this room Exercise in moderation Do not overexert yourself E No employee is qualified, prepared or available to assist you in the event of medical emergency or injury The Club has purchased two Automatic External Defibrillators (AED’s) in case of an emergency One AED is located in the Fitness Center and has instructions attached and the other is located behind the front desk F Read and obey all signs and information on the exercise equipment If you not know how to use a piece of equipment, not use it Do
