PDF - PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Preceptors Primary Preceptors Phillip W Stewart, DPh, Residency Program Director Dr Stewart received his Doctor of Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) from University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1980 Dr Stewart has been a pharmacist starting in 1981 in pediatrics and returned in 1989 with clinical experience in both pediatric and adult pharmacy areas His more recent clinical pharmacy experience has centered around informatics, where he has helped support all enterprise pharmacy areas and the systems that support care delivery In addition, he serves as Affiliate Faculty at several colleges of pharmacy and continues to serve as the Residency Program Director for the PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics residency at Vanderbilt, a role spanning over 10 years Current roles include evidence-based medicine order sets, precepting PGY1, PGY2, pharmacy students along with Epic Willow duties and responsibilities Professional interest involved cultivating an increased awareness of the Pharmacy Informatics role among local pharmacy students Dr Stewart precepts the Orientation and Clinical Pharmacy Systems rotations Edward Woo, PharmD, Residency Coordinator Dr Woo, PharmD, earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Mississippi He started his career with Walgreens and has held positions as a pharmacist and pharmacy manager Edward has experience in a variety of pharmacy settings ranging from compounding, medication therapy management (MTM) and specialty pharmacy Edward joined the pharmacy informatics team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) in 2015 as a Principal Domain Specialist, manager and then Associate Director As a member of ASHP, Edward has served on various SAB groups, and other ASHP organizational groups His interest includes data analytics and automation/robotics with areas of research including analysis of opioid use and transitions of care Dr Woo precepts the Orientation, Ambulatory and Advanced Ambulatory rotations PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Preceptors Difficulty viewing webpage? PDF - PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Preceptors Dr Wing Liu, PharmD Dr Liu completed a PGY2 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Pharmacy Informatics and a PGY1 in Pharmacy Practice at the VA Western New York Healthcare System He earned his PharmD from the University of Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Dr Liu currently serves as the Manager of Epic Inpatient Orders team in Health IT at VUMC In addition to being a preceptor for multiple colleges of pharmacy, he is adjunct faculty within the Lipscomb University Master of Healthcare Informatics program His practice interests include clinical decision support, interoperability, data analytics, and leadership, advocacy, and policy for pharmacists in clinical informatics Dr Liu co-precepts for Project Management Dr Fred Hargrove, DPh Dr Hargrove received his Doctor of Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) from University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in 1983 and has been a pharmacist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since that time Practice areas focused on adult critical care and Operative Services Dr Hargrove was selected to lead CPOE medication build and pharmacy systems integration in 1992, and later shifted to informatics and pharmacy automation focusing on clinical decision support and operational enhancements He was manager of the pharmacy informatics team in 2004, and Pharmacy Portfolio manager in 2010 He was Willow Team Lead for Epic implementation and served as Health IT Pharmacy Director from 2015-2018 His current role is Lead Application Architect focusing on medication related issues across the Health IT Clinical Care Group, working with his colleagues and finding solutions to medication related problems and mentoring interns and residents Dr Hargrove precepts the Clinical Decision Support rotation PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Preceptors Difficulty viewing webpage? PDF - PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Preceptors Dr David Mulherin Dr Mulherin joined the Pharmacy Informatics Health IT team in 2014 Previously he received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2006, followed by a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 2010 After graduation he completed a PGY1 at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis and further received a PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics residency certificate from the University of Michigan He was an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy for years prior to joining the Vanderbilt team Dr Mulherin has taken on numerous projects including expanded TPN ordering, CDS team lead, multiple BPA alerts and drug interaction features in our clinical systems Dr Mulherin has been a preceptor for several rotations and currently precepts the Advanced Clinical Decision Support rotation Dr Michael McGuire Prior to joining the Pharmacy Informatics Health IT team at VUMC, Dr McGuire completed a PGY1 residency in pharmacy practice at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS followed by a PGY2 in Pharmacy Informatics at Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy in Nashville, TN For education he attended the University of Mississippi where he earned his PharmD and BS in Electrical Engineering His duties with the team range from general file configuration, clinical decision support, pharmacy application security, medication database maintenance, and team support through auxiliary systems Dr McGuire currently precepts the Technical Concepts rotation and serves as a Mentor for the residents PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Preceptors Difficulty viewing webpage?
