Clarence Central School District 9625 Main Street · Clarence New York 14031 · Tel 716 407-9102 · Fax 716 407-9126 · www.clarenceschools.org Press Release NEW SUPERINTENDENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CCSD BOARD OF EDUCATION ANNOUNCES NEW SUPERINTENDENT Dr Matthew T Frahm Brings 19 Years of Public Education Service Clarence, NY June 3, 2021 – The Clarence Central School District Board of Education appointed Dr Matthew T Frahm as the district’s new Superintendent, effective August 1, 2021, with a unanimous vote at its Board meeting on June 3, 2021 Dr Frahm succeeds Dr Geoffrey M Hicks who will retire on July 31, 2021 after ten years of exemplary service as the district’s Superintendent Dr Frahm’s appointment was the result of a nationwide search conducted by School Leadership, LLC Dr Frahm has 19 years of service in public education For the past seven years, Dr Frahm has served as the Superintendent of the Naples Central School District He began his career as a Social Studies teacher in the Geneseo Central School District where he taught for eight years During that time, Frahm was also a coach, a class advisor, and an adjunct lecturer at SUNY Geneseo In addition, prior to serving as Superintendent at Naples, Dr Frahm was the Principal for the Naples Junior-Senior High School Dr Frahm has a strong background in school leadership and in creating a dynamic environment in which all students can thrive Under his leadership as Superintendent of Naples, the district boosted academic achievement, was recognized as a Silver Medal High School, was placed on the College Board’s Advanced Placement Roll, and was honored as a “Top Workplace” by the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle “The Board is confident that Matthew Frahm will lead our district as we work together to deliver the best education possible for our students," said Michael Fuchs, Clarence Central School District’s Board president "We believe he will be a strong leader dedicated to our academic and extracurricular mission The Board was impressed with his record of collaboration, communication, and accountability His experience provides the foundation to boldly lead our district.” Dr Frahm has a bachelor’s degree in History from the State University of New York at Geneseo (Cum Laude), a master’s of science degree in Education from the University of New York at Geneseo, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from the State University of New York at Brockport Dr Frahm received his doctorate in Executive Leadership from St John Fisher College He grew up in Ithaca, New York, with frequent visits to Clarence to visit family “It is a special privilege to be a member of the Clarence school family Clarence is one of the highest performing districts in New York State, and I look forward to joining a group of educators who are committed to the success of every child,” Dr Frahm said “Clarence feels like home My mother’s side of the family is from Clarence, and I grew up visiting the area to spend time with cousins and grandparents I know that Clarence is a special corner of the world, and I am looking forward to officially becoming a member of the community.” Clarence Central School District is a top rated, public school district located in Clarence, New York It has more than 4,300 students in grades K-12 More than 700 employees work daily at four elementary schools, a middle school and a high school as teachers, administrators, and support staff Media Contact: Michael Fuchs MFuchs@ClarenceSchools.org ... degree in History from the State University of New York at Geneseo (Cum Laude), a master’s of science degree in Education from the University of New York at Geneseo, and a Certificate of Advanced...
