South Sound Regional Science Fair at PLU The South Sound Regional Science Fair began in 1998 Twelve teachers from Pierce and Thurston counties approached Pacific Lutheran University and requested that PLU host a regional science fair The South Sound Regional Science Fair is affiliated with the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) This was the tenth year that Saltar’s Point has participated in the South Sound Regional Science Fair at PLU Special participation pins and certificates were awarded to all K through 8th grade participants First, second, third place winners received a certificate and ribbon as well as the students who received Honorable Mention Participants also had the opportunity to receive various scientific kits if they place in the Specialty Categories This year there were approximately 300 K-5 entries from around the South Sound The twenty-three science projects which were entered from Saltar’s Point carefully followed the judging criteria and participated at PLU on April 2, 2011 Saltar’s Point entries won11 awards this year!
