The Mount Sinai Hospital / The Mount Sinai School of Medicine Human Resources Job Description Job Class Code: AK72 Patient Contact: Job Title: Credentials Coordinator II Patient Care: Code: A (for HR) Job Summary Responsible for verifying the identity and qualifications of medical staff personnel to ensure each practitioner meets the requirements of the credentialing process and policies of the Mount Sinai Health System Hospitals and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Coordinates all functions related to credentialing and re-credentialing verification of the hospital’s medical staff Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance and/or frequency) Acts as customer service liaison and leads the credentialing process with medical staff personnel, department representatives, licensing agencies and insurance carriers Assesses and prioritizes Medical Staff appointments and backlog Evaluates applicants’ credentials in accordance in order to ensure compliance with medical staff by-laws and other regulatory bodies Develops and delivers management process metrics to medical staff management and its customers May act as team lead and may participate in probationary and annual performance evaluations Performs other related duties a assigned Minimum Education (HS/GED; specialized training; degree and discipline) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Minimum Related Experience (e.g year in research environment) years hospital credentialing experience Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures used in health care and physician credentialing Minimum Licensing Requirements (provide name and agency) None Page of rev 2/8/2010 Minimum Certification Requirements (provide name and agency) NAMSS preferred Minimum Computer Skills (provide program and skill level, e.g MS Word - Basic) (skill levels are Basic, Intermediate, Advanced) Advanced Microsoft Office skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point) Experience with Morrisey Software or similar credentialing system General Skills (e.g Excellent written and oral communication) Takes initiative and resolves problems independently Works well under stress and with shifting priorities Builds successful customer relationships Has strong attention to detail Maintains strict adherence to deadlines Able to regularly meet productivity and quality goals Has good organizational skills Work Context Has Signatory Authority for Expenditures?
