The Search for Peace in Times of Chaos—Volume Judgment and Salvation The Second Coming of the Lord will be in glory The dead will be raised with a new body, and unbelievers will be judged by what is in their hearts Many Moravian churches still teach universal reconciliation, also called —the Christian doctrine or belief that can receive salvation, regardless of belief, due to the love and mercy of God Universal reconciliation states that any person can eventually experience salvation Most forms of the doctrine assert that the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the mechanism that provides reconciliation for all humankind and atonement for all sins Special Doctrine The Moravian Church’s Relationships with Other Christians: Count Zinzendorf has been called the ecumenical pioneer Since the time of Zinzendorf Moravians have sought the Christian Unity for which Jesus asked in John 17, when he prayed, “ Ǥdz Though decidedly evangelical in spirit, the Moravian Church is a broad church in its desire to include all Christians in its circle of brothers and sisters The Moravian Church is small in comparison to some denominations, but in one sense, it may be viewed as the small hub in the center of the large wheel that is Protestant Christianity Moravians tend to be closer to and more accepting of almost every other denomination than virtually any other Christian denomination.29 It has never been the desire of the Moravian Church to add another creed to the many creeds of Christendom Their effort has been to unify them around the one essential fact of Christian faith: a crucified Savior So they have become a church of a single faith The Moravian Church would say, “Make Jesus Christ your Lord and Master, seek the guidance of the Word and His Spirit, and we shall have no differences with you We offer you in all sincerity our Christian fellowship We call you ‘Brother’.” Moravians begin with a heart relationship with Christ and a love for one another
