If so, need to bring courses and certificate (believe that certificate is needed in order to get higher funding)  Revised Uniform Course Numbering (UCN) System     LIS 80 and 200: Laney and BCC will bring courses to CIPD in order to match recommended prep (ENGL 264 and CIS 237) o Approve LIS 85 and 200 pending consultation of recommend prep with other campuses Amany compiled info about the topic BUS, CIS, ESL ones who will run out of numbers; o PEAC is willing to spilt numbers ESOL (only active courses); o BUS and CIS real issues; Jayne Matthews suggested using numbers not used before;  BCC opposed to this idea; o MMART running out of numbers; o Issue with updating ASSIST (will it automatically be updated); Steve spoke and was told it would update automatically but suggest update with Curriculum Update System; o Idea of using prefix (ACCT-BUS) Idea for departments to come up with their own solutions Bring back in December Page of Laney and BCC bring LIS courses to CIPD in Dec Bring back to agenda in December CIPD Responsible Party Timeline Peralta Community College District CIPD Meeting Minutes November 2, 2015 Board Room District Topic CurricUNET META Update Follow-up Action & Recommendations Discussion         Data verification process moving v2 to META; Amy sent all schools spreadsheets of active courses; already talked to GoverNET; v2 reports not accurate; but META seems to be inclusive; News: META will have public access; iframe; public will be able to view SLOs and PLOs; GoverNET agreed to our timeline; final week of Nov 16th; go dark Soft opening (training for curriculum committees; curriculum specialists; admins); test so ready for January when everyone comes back o Email Amy if you notice any issues or problems o Test approval process Manuals for both general and admins BCC is asking for more time due to Program Review; o timeline—data verification couple hours; o Cleavon willing to help in the process; o v2 will still be open and if big problems they will correct them; need to work out the kinks while it is live; o reason for soft opening and so the information is accurate; o final push will be where we check everything is still there; o 2nd migration is when you should look in detail Merritt—not enough support; o Curriculum specialists should be given OT for Page of Work on data verification Responsible Party Timeline All campuses Until Nov 23rd Peralta Community College District CIPD Meeting Minutes November 2, 2015 Board Room District Topic Discussion   Update from the state: Policy Change for Hours and Units Calculations for Credit Courses      GEOL 1L: requisites and scheduling inconsistency  the extra work o Amy will speak to Mike Orkin about the extra work V2 will be up as “long as we need” at least months People can get the stipend later if people data review later Adding a 3rd category to type of course (activity) Question from Merritt: BIOL 1A all contact hours at campuses are different; Laney correct (5 in class; 10 out of class); other colleges different; Activity: homework for the lab; override in CNET; has to be a district change; Chancellor’s conference brought up; also in art and music; moved homework hours into class hours (2 for 1) because don’t have equipment at home Opportunity to look at our courses and see if there needs to be change Issue has come up in BCC with student signed up for as 8w2 and 1L as full-semester; so unprepared for the lab section; need to be careful about scheduling; o ANTH, GEOG and GEOL have short term lecture; issue of content and pedagogy; o bring in these departments to discuss this issue and consult;  include data to show how students react to short term and full semester courses; already difference between colleges and sections; o go back to colleges and discuss if the student can take the lab w/o the lecture; Page of Follow-up Action & Recommendations Responsible Party Discuss with ANTH, GEOG, and GEOL depts about separate lec/lab courses (can students take the lab w/o the lecture) All campuses Timeline Peralta Community College District CIPD Meeting Minutes November 2, 2015 Board Room District Topic Next meeting Follow-up Action & Recommendations Discussion 12/7/15 (1:00 to 3:00 pm) Board Room, District Page of Responsible Party Timeline
