Associate / Full Professor – Research Focus New Orleans, LA tssw.tulane.edu Organizational Overview Our partner, Tulane University School of Social Work (TSSW), is seeking an Associate/Full Professor with a focus on and passion for research to cultivate and grow the school’s scholarship efforts This new member of the team would work along side Dean Patrick Bordnick, the school’s academic leadership team, 20 full-time faculty members, over 20 adjunct faculty, and administrative staff to continue the school’s rich tradition and challenge to Do Work That Matters For over 100 years, TSSW has trained future leaders to provide clinical and community-based practice that empowers individuals, families, and communities Its portfolio of programs includes on-campus and online Doctorate in Social Work, on-campus and online Master in Social Work, Master of Science in Disaster Resilience Leadership, and an interdisciplinary City, Culture and Community Ph.D program in collaboration with the Department of Sociology, the School of Social Work, and Urban Studies program The Master of Social Work Degree includes unique Certificates in Disaster and Collective Trauma (DaCT) and Mental Health, Addiction and the Family Three Dual Degrees are offered: Master of Social Work/Master of Public Health within the Department of Global Community Health Sciences and Behavioral Sciences, Master of Social Work/Juris Doctor and Master of Social Work/Master of Science in Disaster Resilience Leadership The undergraduate offering is in Social Policy and Practice TSSW is one of the country’s top invites applications for a 9-month tenured faculty appointment at the rank of Associate/Full Professor to join their top-tier faculty of 20 full-time colleagues and over 20 Adjunct members The expected start date is July 1, 2020 The focus of this new hire is to cultivate and continue to grow TSSW’s research efforts TSSW is expanding its research capacity and infrastructure to support projects that make significant impacts in the dynamic and multicultural New Orleans This role will include research support and start-up funding to fortify the research mission as a Carnegie designee Candidates shall have an exceptional record of research, teaching, and service consistent with an appointment at the rank of Associate/Professor with tenure TSSW is seeking candidates with expertise in any of the following areas: Clinical Behavioral Health and Addiction or Health and Community-Based Participatory Research Candidates should have evidence of a strong foundation in federal level research or equivalent experience, scholarly publications in top-level journals, and strong skills in preparing research grant proposals for external funding from federal, state, or foundation sources The teaching opportunities will be within the Master of Social Work, Master of Science in Disaster Resilience Leadership, and Doctorate in Social Work These programs of distinction are delivered in both an online and on-campus format Preferred Qualifications  Earned Doctorate in Social Work or in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, or Public Health)  Successful record of external funding (Federal-NIH, NSF, SAMHSA, HRSA, NIJ and/or Foundations) including a current active research program  Strong record of significant publications in high impact journals and recognized leadership in the field  Strong track-record of mentoring faculty  Evidence of multidisciplinary collaborations and collegial spirit  Top-tier teaching history and successful mentoring of graduate students (MSW, MPH, PhD, DSW)  MSW from an accredited CSWE program and license eligible is desirable, however, not required Compensation Depending on the skills and experiences of the individual hired, we are anticipating a competitive base salary for the nine-month appointment with opportunities for summer contracts The compensation package also includes outstanding benefits to include
