SECTION 2: Project Description Title of the Project: Brochure Translation Project Location (Address, City, State, and Zip): Flexible- we have ten RI locations including two in Bristol This project could easily be done off site General Project Description (you may attach a longer narrative if necessary):| Saint Elizabeth Community(SEC) has nine brochures One brochure provides an overview of the services offered at SEC, and there are for each Saint Elizabeth Community members: Saint Elizabeth Home Saint Elizabeth Manor Saint Elizabeth Court Saint Elizabeth Place Saint Elizabeth Terrace Cornerstone Adult Services Additionally we have two program brochures for Saint Elizabeth Haven and RI Volunteer Guardianship Program We would like all the brochures translated into both Portuguese and Spanish Potential Scope of Work/Tasks for RWU CPC1(you may attach a longer narrative if necessary): CPC project services are performed by students in support of their educational experience Applicants shall understand that any deliverables generated through an accepted project are intended to provide conceptual information only to assist design and planning and as such are not intended, nor should they be used for, construction or other project implementation Professional This is a straight forward project Nuances in language may need to be discussed with alternative text suggested for the brochure What will be the final product output for this project? Funding Volunteers Staff time Consultants Other (please list) SECTION 3: Project Outcomes Please describe how this project will benefit your organization and the advancement of your mission: Saint Elizabeth Community serves a wide population across RI including individuals whose first language is either Portuguese or Spanish Our brochures have recently been updated to reflect the growth within our organization and now need to be translated to accommodate the various individuals we serve and/or other services may be needed to ultimately implement a sponsor’s desired goals Please describe how this project might benefit the overall community, including specific groups that could benefit from this project (i.e target populations, neighborhoods, specific town/city/region) The specific groups that this project will benefit are those whose first language is either Portuguese or Spanish Bristol and Warren have a large Portuguese speaking population, especially among seniors, and in Providence where Saint Elizabeth Place is located Spanish is spoken by many residents Please explain why you have chosen to seek assistance from the RWU CPC with your project request, instead of undertaking the project using fee-for-services from a paid professional: I had not started to research having this project done by a translator but was concerned with end product being accurate, and my lack of ability to judge the accuracy as I am not proficient in either language It seemed like a perfect project for a student to take on under the supervision of a language professor who could evaluate the quality of the work As a not for profit, the expense might be more than my budget would allow for at this time Please describe how this project will benefit RWU students A language/ marketing student could benefit by seeing the value in communicating to “customers” in their language, and the value of having a brochure that highlights the important features of the service provided It would provide a hands on opportunity for a student who has double majored in a language and marketing SECTION 4: Financial Information What is your organization’s annual operating budget?
