1 Homecoming Steering Committee Resolution 3WHEREAS, the Student Government Association is the official student governing body for 4Illinois State University; 6WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Student Government Association to recognize outstanding 7achievement by students and committees; 9WHEREAS, the Programs and Recognition Committee has determined the importance of 10recognizing committees who have shown great achievement in, but not limited to, the areas of 11scholarship, service, special events, athletics, and success at Illinois State University; 12 13WHEREAS, “Homecoming Week” was an event that increased school spirit, student 14involvement, an opportunity for increased awareness for the Student Government Association 15and constituent contact; 16 17WHEREAS, increased school spirit, student involvement and awareness for the Student 18Government Association and constituent contact are goals for the 2007-2008 Student 19Government administration; 20 21WHEREAS, the planning for “Homecoming Week” was executed through the Homecoming 22Steering Committee; 23 24WHEREAS, the Homecoming Steering Committee planned all events associated with 25Homecoming week, such as the Kick-Off on the Quad, Casino Night, Torchlight Parade, etc,; 26 27WHEREAS, Student Government Association had representatives attend each of these events 28planned by the Homecoming Steering Committee; 29 30WHEREAS, the Homecoming Steering Committee has shown exceptional leadership and 31achievement in planning and the execution of “Homecoming Week”; 32 33THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Assembly of the Student Government Association and 34the Programs and Recognition Committee recognize the Homecoming Steering Committee for 35their exceptional hard work for the planning and execution of “Homecoming Week” at Illinois 36State University; 37 38BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Programs and Recognition Committee through the Public 39Relations Director will write a press release to be given to the Technology Director to ensure this 40achievement by the Homecoming Steering Committee will be cited on the Student Government 41Website; 42 43BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Programs and Recognition Committee will distribute a 44certificate of achievement to the Homecoming Steering Committee for their achievements 45 ADVOCACY ● UNITY ● LEADERSHIP 46BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Assembly of the Student Government Association directs the 47Student Body President along with the Programs and Recognition Chairperson to transmit a 48formal copy of this resolution, a letter of congratulations on behalf of the Association and 49Student Body 50 51 52Adopted by the Assembly of the Student Government Association on the day of 53 , 2007 54 55We hereunto set our hands in affirmation of the adoption of this bill by the Assembly of the 56Student Government Association: 57 58 59 60 61Dave Horstein, Student Body President Mark Cassata, Speaker of the Assembly 62 63 64I hereunto set my hand it witness and certification of the adoption of this bill by the Assembly of 65the Student Government Association: 66 67 68 _ 69Ted Mason, Secretary of the Assembly Vote: _Y _ A _ N 70 71 72 ADVOCACY ● UNITY ● LEADERSHIP
