Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism 2014 INDUSTRY OPPORTUNITY WORKING SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS & APPLICATION The Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism is an annual event that brings Oregon’s travel and tourism industry together for professional education and networking opportunities The 2014 conference is Sunday, April 27 – Tuesday, April 29 at Sunriver Resort in Central Oregon Tourism experts share the podium with Oregon’s most knowledgeable industry presenters A tightly-packed agenda addresses the industry’s need for such topics as: social media, economic development, marketing, travel trade, policy, research, management, public relations, customer service and so much more! Check out the agenda at: www.OregonTourismConference.com Scholarship Overview Attending the Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism can be a financial challenge for some whose regions, businesses, communities, organizations, or families just cannot foot the bill In order to continue educating the industry, a limited number of scholarships will be available this year Details Each scholarship will be equal to either the “full conference early-bird registration” ($285 value) - or a “one-day early-bird registration” for either Monday ($195 value) or Tuesday ($160 value) Included: all conference meals, breaks, and events, as scheduled Not included: pre-conference tours/activities, personal transportation, lodging, non-conference meals, personal incidentals, and all other expenses incurred by recipient Recipients have the opportunity to participate in scheduled conference sessions and events Recipients are expected to work a few shifts at the conference and will receive their work assignment and schedule prior to conference (most shifts will be preconference on Sunday April 27 beginning at 9:00 am so if you cannot be available this day and time please let us know) No scholarship recipient will receive any monetary remuneration as part of the scholarship; the scholarship is not transferrable Requirements To be eligible for consideration, the applicant must: Demonstrate that attending the Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism would create a financial hardship for the applicant or applicant’s organization; Have participated in the tourism industry as an individual entrepreneur, as part of a tourism-related organization or business, or be involved with a community or regional tourism effort, program, project, or event; Commit to continuing participation in Oregon’s travel and tourism industry (if a recipient) Have successfully completed the 90-minute online Oregon Q Care Customer Service Training Program: www.OregonQCare.com Complete and sign the Industry Opportunity Scholarship Form, which outlines the scholarship benefits and obligations Questions?
