Mathias Nyenti & George Mpedi The impact of the Southern African Development Community social protection floor instruments on the setting up of a minimum floor of social protection in member countries Ines Vitic Brief on: Social world regions 12.30 – 13.30 LUNCH 13.30 – 15.00 Session 3: Social protection strategies: public, private and informal provision The first presentation looks at mechanisms for retirement provisions in the SADC region, whereas the other centers on various social protection schemes in Lesotho However, both focus on different systems of social protection – public, contributory-based, private, voluntary and/or informal – and discuss different threats and challenges for reform;
