UNIVERSITY OF NATIONAL AND WORLD ECONOMY COURSE TITLE: Development and management of integrated information systems SEMESTER: (WINTER or SUMMER) TEACHER’S NAME: Assoc Prof Dr R Kirilov OFFICE: E-MAIL: ANNOTATION The course is designed to introduce students to theoretical and methodological aspects of the development and implementation of integrated information systems Course content is divided into 14 topics, which provide consistent performance at all stages - from descriptions of business processes and overall concept of the application, through the design of individual elements of the database and interface - up to the full functionality of the designed application The program provides the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in research, analysis, design, development, implementation and operation of integrated information systems Each of the topics of the curriculum is supplemented with development of issues and case studies during the seminars LANGUAGE OF TEACHING ENGLISH COURSE CONTENT (TOPICS) A LECTURES: № THEME Topic Procedures and rules for building the database of the integrated information systems Topic Creating the plan and timetable for the development of integrated information systems Topic Creating a common vision concerning the modularity and the interface Topic Development of pages (screens) used for maintenance of nomenclatures Topic Development of the pages used for data input Topic Development of the report (data output) pages Topic Opportunities for development of report generator Topic Development of the menu system Topic Creating a common vision for the administration and security of the application 10 Topic 10 Development of the module for administration 11 Topic 11 Development of the module for ensuring the planned level of security, UNIVERSITY OF NATIONAL AND WORLD ECONOMY № THEME including a combination of protective measures - user accounts, user profiles, building of custom policies and others 12 Topic 12 Development of the help system 13 Topic 13 Development of the solution for data import and export 14 Topic 14 Testing of the application B.SEMINARS: № • • THEME Creating the plan and timetable for the development of integrated information systems Creating a common vision concerning the modularity and the interface Development of the application database Development of the pages used for data input Development of the report (data output) pages, development of report generator Development of the menu system Development of the module for administration and planned level of security Development of the help system and the module for data import and export Testing of the application METHODS OF TEACHING There are provided two hours lecture and two hours seminar per week Preparation for each seminar session requires the release of a number of hours outside the academic commitment of students For all lectures are prepared Power Point presentations, and for seminars - practical tasks Necessary technical resources for training are: multimedia projector, PPP, video, computer class with Internet connection The software used Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Office, Power Designer LEARNING OUTCOMES UNIVERSITY OF NATIONAL AND WORLD ECONOMY The course will give basic knowledge of the following: • Current theories and methods for design, development and management of integrated information systems; • Structure and interaction between the individual modules of the integrated information system; The course provides the following skills: • Management of IT projects, based on modern technologies; ASSESTMENT METHODS Individual assignment is presented to the course group Exam includes two estimates with equal weight - the exam, held in the form of test and practical development of a real problem The formula for the formation of the final grade is as follows: FE = 0,5 * ET + 0,5 * IS, FE = final exam ET = assessment of the exam test IS = assessment of the presentation of individual assignment The final grade is made using “six-score” grading system The minimum grade for successful completion of the course is "Average / /."
