ISAM Global Expert Network (ISAM-GEN) Webinar Topic: Expert Elicitation as a Research Tool; Towards Developing World Addiction Medicine Report Thursday, November 11th, 2021, 10:00 AM – 13:00 PM (ET, New York Time) Aims and Scope Expert opinion constitutes an important source of information, especially when other types of data are scarce, the issues under discussion are complex and difficult to address with available data, or there is a need for rapid synthesis of information and intervention formulation The dynamic and complex nature of substance use disorders and behavioral addictions necessitates the formation of global networks which can rapidly identify emerging challenges, synthesize cross-national information, and provide valid consensus opinions on areas of disagreement This need was brought into sharp focus early in the COVID19 pandemic, when there were reports of service provision disruptions and changes in drug use patterns, prompting ISAM to conduct a rapid global expert survey and formulate preliminary policy recommendations To better inform the addiction science community of emerging challenges and enable rapid responses, it is essential to develop a global expert infrastructure based around ISAM which can enable valid expert elicitation and consensus-building Bringing together experts in addiction medicine and expert elicitation, this workshop will feature talks on cutting-edge expert elicitation methods and ISAM's Global Expert Network (ISAM-GEN) initiative You can learn more about the initiative here: https://isamweb.org/global-expert-network/ We hope this webinar will be the first step in shaping a working group to design a longitudinal global expert survey and develop the World Addiction Medicine Report Attendees from across addiction science disciplines are welcome to attend the webinar to learn how they may join the working group and have a voice in this evolving project This is a free online event organized by the International Society for Addiction Medicine You can register in the meeting with searching it in the eventbrite.com website to clicking the below link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/isam-global-expert-network-isam-gen-webinar-tickets-190955843067?
