SUMMARY OF THESIS Title: Building business strategy to enhance the competitiveness of Information Technology Center – EVN Telecom Company period 2010 – 2015 Author: Nguyen Phuong Thao School year: 2008-2010 Tutor: Dr Phạm Thị Nhuận Summary: a) The reason for the selection thesis’s title - Companies in general and Information Technology Center in particular have to face the great competition pressure from the market - Information Technology Center have to face the competition pressure from EVN  EVN are in the equitization process, the member companies are more and more self-control in information technology area Many IT units to be established and growing more and more  5/2009, EVNIT was merged into EVNTELECOM company EVNIT was formerly the dependent accounting entity of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), now EVNIT is the dependent accounting entity of EVNTELECOM company, will be equitized in 2010 b) Purpose, object and scope of the thesis - Purpose for study: Building business strategy to enhance the competitiveness of Information Technology Center – EVN Telecom Company period 2010 – 2015 - Scope of thesis:  EVNIT’s business strategy, not EVNTelecom’s business strategy  EVNIT’s business strategy in information technology area, not in others c) Main content and new contributions of the author The thesis “Building business strategy to enhance the competitiveness of Information Technology Center – EVN Telecom Company period 2010 – 2015” performed: - Systematizing the basic theory of building business strategy - Analyzing the basis to building business strategy to Information Technology Center – EVN Telecom Company, consisting of the macroenvironment analysis, the micro-environment analysis, the internal environment analysis and SWOT analysis - Proposing the general goal, the function strategies, and the methods to perform EVNIT’s business strategy period 2010-2015 d) Methodology of study From business strategy theory, the thesis used data collected from various sources: - EVNIT’s financial reports, annual reports - Viet Nam status and forecast IT sector’s business data from General Statistics Office Of Vietnam, Ministry of Information and Communications - The competitor’s status and forecast IT sector’s business data from web sites, Ministry of Information and Communications and other sources e) Conclusion The thesis came from independent study and met the requirements: Building business strategy to enhance the competitiveness of Information Technology Center – EVN Telecom Company up to 2015
