1) Adverbs of manner : trạng từ chỉ thể cách (cách thức của 1 sự việc diễn ra như thế nào)
Formation : cách thành lập .
Adjective (tính từ) + ly ---> Adverbs (trạng từ)
Bad (tệ, xấu) --> badly (1 cách tệ / xấu) ; soft (nhẹ,nhỏ)--> softly (một cách nhỏ /nhẹ nhàng)
Fast (nhanh) ---- > fast (1 cách nhanh chống); hard (chăm, khó) --- > hard (1 cách chăm chỉ /)
Good (tốt, giỏi) --- > well (giỏi, tốt) ;
Note : Trạng từ thường bổ nghĩa cho động từ
Ex: She speaks English well . I know I behaved badly .
2) Commands, requests and advice in reported speech :caõu meọnh leọnh, yeõu cầu, lời khuyên trong câu nói gián tiếp :
a/ Commands and requests in reported speech :câu mệnh lệnh và yêu cầu trong câu nói gián tiếp :
general form : công thức chung
Subject + asked / told + Object (tân ngữ) +(not) + to + V(inf)
-Dùng các động từ mở đầu : asked (yêu cầu) ; told (bảo) ; ordered (ra lệnh) ; advised (khuyeân)
-Thêm ‘To’ trước động từ nguyên mẫu của câu trực tiếp hoặc “ not to” nếu là caõu meọnh leọnh phuỷ ủũnh
-Thay đổi đại từ (nhân xưng, sở hữu)sao cho phù hợp .:
+ I, my, me, we, us, our -> đồi theo chủ ngữ (người ra lệnh) + you, your -> đổi theo người nghe (người bị ra lệnh) -Bỏ dấu ngoặc kép và từ ‘please’ (nếu có) .
Ex: a/ He said “ Can you meet me after class ?”
=> He asked me to meet him after class .
b/ “Don’t leave your room,Tom” she said .
=> She told Tom not to leave his room .
c/ The policeman said : “ Please show me your driving licence.”
=>The policeman ordered me to show him my driving licence .
