3.2. Property relationship between IT and Business

SUFAT network uses Server - Client model to manage information in the server.

This is a popular model in computer networks that is used commonly. The idea of this model is that the client (acting as Guest) sends a request to the server (acting as service providers), the server will process and returns the results to the Guest.

A program is considered as a client when it sends out the request to the server program and waits for the answer from the server. Server and client programs communicate to each other by messages through IPC (Inter-process Communication). In order to a server program and a client program communicate with each other, there must be standard to talk which is called “protocol”.

a.With the current network development, there are many standard protocols on the network launched to meet this growing demand. Standard protocols (at the network layer and transport) are the most widely used today such as: TCP / IP, IBM SNA protocols, OSI, ISDN, X.25 or LAN-to-LAN NetBIOS protocol. A computer program containing the server is considered as a host or server and client containing program considered as the client.

Server controls and decentralizes client and authenticates client when logs in server. Data is stored centrally so it is easy to secure, back up and synchronize with each other. Resources and services are focused then it is easy to share, manage and serve multiple users.

The application of this model is to help the Company manage all information flow operating within the enterprise; the exchange between the departments was tracked and processed. This is a good point in the application of the model; however the delay in monitoring and checking of request feedback has not been managed and

measured strictly and seriously. This reduces the effectiveness of the client-server model.

Sales order management

1. Allows the sales department to quickly access inventory information in term of materials and goods in order to decide to accept the order. When the order is approved, the software will automatically generate the shipment which is transferred directly in the system to the warehouse department.

2. The warehouse department instantly records the shipment, supplies; the warehouse manager approves and exports goods from the warehouse. This software enables to integrate barcode technology in the warehouse operation.

3. The technicians check exports and prepare ex-factory inspection checking.

4. Clients pay and to be issued VAT invoices

5. The technical department prepares the requirement for shipment of promotional accessories, additional assembly materials if the Clients request. The following process will be similarly handled on software system.

6. Simultaneously, the warranty information is automatically transferred to Warranty module to track the warranty and customer care service later.

This software is an effective tool in the design and introduction of new products. From here, Sufat has introduced many new models like models to celebrate one thousand year anniversary of Thang Long Hanoi; Cup 50, 75, 125 CC ... However, it is still required to upgrade this software to be able to support users more and able to connect the units to design fastly.
