Chart 4.6. Other factors affecting the implementation of TPR
5.6. Suggestions for further research
From the limitation shown above, I would like to propose some problems in this thesis paper that need considering further research:
First of all, another study conducted can use more different ways of collecting data such as phone interview or tape – recording observation so that the results will be evaluated more exactly.
If there is more interest in this topic, I hope that another study can broaden to different primary schools with students at different ages. It’s said that TPR is successful with children and adults learning any language. We need some further studies on students with different ages to help us prove whether it’s true or not. Although scores of language classes using TPR in countries around the world have enjoyed successful results for students learning European, Asia, Indian, it’s the first study in Quang Binh (Vietnam) – my home town.
My research is viewed under perceptions of teachers; another study should investigate other aspects such as parent’s perceptions which are in need. In addition to make use of instruction practices, it is useful to involve parents in their children’s education. Giving information about the instructional approaches being used to the parents, make them understand the teaching method, so that they can help the student review at home. In the further study, the influence of parents’ attitude and participation to children’s education, their confidence of the children’s accomplishment and modeling are worthy to be discussed.
