The Covid-19 storm is having an unprecedented impact, many workers lost their jobs and bear the burden of food, clothes and other expenses. We were touched and saddened when we watched the footage “Boundaries” about the fight against death at Hung Vuong Hospital - a small corner of the vast Ho Chi Minh City. Then many other pitiful people in society when the Covid-19 storm swept through.

In order to keep a stable source of income for about 6,000 workers, there is a “captain” who is worrying day and night for thousands of people to steer the boat Deo Ca through the extremely difficult period. Nearly 2 years after the pandemic appeared and changed the world, in Vietnam, in the first 8 months

of 2021, more than 85,000 businesses withdrew from the market (up 24.2% over the same period in 2020); hundreds of thousands of workers lost their jobs... Those are the numbers that can “speak” about the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on the socio-economy. That is also the time when employees of Deo Ca corporate system received a message from the chief of Deo Ca Group: “You are my family”.

With the policy of “leaving no one behind”, at the beginning of 2020 when the Covid-19 epidemic appeared in Vietnam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deo Ca Group, Ho Minh Hoang personally visited each project and toll station to motivate employees. “Nowadays, if you are working for another business,

you may have been forced to stay at home. But for Ca Deo, we still do not leave our working position, the system is still running and we guarantee the work for you provided that we strictly follow the directions of the Government and the requirements of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control”, Mr. Hoang said in front of officials and workers at the Hai Van 2 tunnel project site on the morning of March 30, 2020.

During the outbreak of the disease, hundreds of workers at Trung Luong - My Thuan project, employees of toll stations, employees of offices of Deo Ca Group were vaccinated. Also witnessed the touching image when the Group’s leaders waited at the gate of the isolation

area to welcome the officials and employees of Deo Ca who completed the concentrated isolation period in Tien Giang.

For nearly 4 months, most of Deo Ca’s staff in the southern region could not come directly to the office. There are employees who work remotely, but there are people who cannot work from home due to the nature of their work. However, not a single employee was cut. “Last time, although my work was affected, I was still paid by the company regularly, while many friends and acquaintances had late wages or even lost their jobs. I am the main worker, so that salary is really meaningful to my family during this difficult time”, said Ms. Ngoc Phuong, a housekeeping staff at Deo Ca headquarters, 32

Ms. Vo Thi Bich Ngoc, sales staff of Deo Ca Security Company shared: “Although I only work from home, in the past few months, I have been paid by the company on time according to the new salary regulation. I understand this is a huge share of the Group. Hopefully the pandemic will pass quickly, we will return to normal life and I also look forward to a long-term commitment and dedication to the Group.”

From the center of the epidemic, every staff member of Deo Ca Group felt excited, the city named after Uncle Ho also returned to daily life and they were ready for that return.
