a transaction analysis framework for management

This study provides a strategic policy framework for the creation and preservation of digital resources, with recommendations in the areas of long-term digital preservation, standards, the policy framework, and future research. The framework addresses the key stages in the life cycle of a digital resource, the inter-relationships and dependencies between each stage, and how these are influenced by the legal and business environment within which the digital resource is created, used and ultimately preserved. **Recommendations** **Long-term digital preservation:** * Raise awareness of the importance of long-term digital preservation among data creators and other stakeholders * Encourage the use of best practices and standards for digital preservation * Support the development of new technologies and strategies for digital preservation * Provide funding for digital preservation initiatives **Standards:** * Develop and promote standards for the creation, management, and preservation of digital resources * Ensure that standards are widely adopted by stakeholders * Provide guidance on the selection and use of standards **Policy framework:** * Develop a policy framework for the creation and preservation of digital resources * Implement the policy framework in all relevant organizations * Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the policy framework **Further research:** * Conduct research on the costs and benefits of digital preservation * Investigate new technologies and strategies for digital preservation * Develop best practices for the creation, management, and preservation of digital resources
