Is it the gift that each student has, or does the student practice that skill every day to acquire? As a new teacher of English in junior high school, I have been pondering over, accumulated experience from myself and colleagues to find the best method of teaching speaking skills Application that asks students to use the language learned in communication effectively In today's seminar, from the bottom of my heart, I would like to share with you delegates, teachers and colleagues about effective methods of teaching English speaking skills for primary school students To achieve the lesson objectives, the teacher must apply many effective methods in teaching and learning activities in class In which, the method of practicing speaking skills is indispensable in every foreign language lesson In the teaching process, the application of teaching methods to guide students in acquiring knowledge quickly, making the best use of that knowledge is a big problem for cultural subjects in general and English subjects in particular The education sector of Van Lam district has been and will actively work towards the perfection of innovative teaching methods For the development of speaking skills, take the language or topic as a speaking unit and take before speaking, while speaking (while-speaking) and after speaking (Postspeaking) as a rule standard program to practice the content and language needed for students to be able to speak a certain topic after a speaking class In addition, in order for students to have more opportunities to communicate in English at a basic level and gradually develop the ability to use the language, the teacher must let students practice speaking in classes of other skills, in Language knowledge lessons or more simply, when warming up the classroom atmosphere (Warm - up), at oral test or just when teachers and students respond normally in the classroom All of these are very important in order to improve the quality and efficiency of the teaching process 2.2 The reality of the problem 2.2.1 The situation of students In recent years, according to new programs, textbooks, new methods in teaching and learning, especially when teachers' lectures are written on lively and attractive PowerPoint presentation software, many students are very successful love the subject, be more active in all activities However, there are still many weak students While learning to speak English, they face many obstacles: facing the teacher, the feeling of difficulty in expressing the language, the fear of making mistakes, the fear of being criticized by the teacher, the embarrassment of speaking first Classmates, especially when they lack many elements to speak effectively and confidently In addition to being asked by a teacher to talk about a topic, children often have no intention of expressing, although at times students have some ready-made ideas, when asked to speak it appears that they have ready So when saying something in English, they often feel compelled to speak and therefore have no real communication This means that students will have very little time and opportunity to speak In addition, when students speak English and Vietnamese, the natural tendency is that they will use media better and more easily than in Vietnamese This is a limitation that is not easy to overcome, especially for remote schools like Trung Thanh This makes classroom teachers think about more effective models of interaction According to the statistics of the oral test scores of speaking skills in December 2020-2021 school year, the quality of English speaking skills in grades 7A, 7B, I teach is shown as follows: Clas Populatio Great SL % s n 7A 24 0 7B 25 0 2.2.2 Infrastructure Rather SL % 20 16 Medium SL % 13 11 54.1 44.0 Weak SL % 16.6 24.0 Least SL % 8.0 16.0 With the requirements of educational innovation, the school's facilities are invested and increasingly growing However, due to the lack of uniformity in previous years, teaching facilities and equipment were lacking such as: there was not enough picture set for the English program; There are no classrooms with specific characteristics of the subject, so teachers cannot arrange tables and chairs in a learner-centered direction, stimulating student interaction or communication such as discussion, language games, Interview, question-andanswer and self-employment activities of individual students and teachers having difficulty fixing the location of teaching facilities such as projectors, overhead projectors, power points to facilitate damage , take time to assemble 2.3 The solutions used to solve the problem Speaking is an important skill in learning practical and communicative English It helps students apply the knowledge learned in books and daily knowledge "Speaking" is the result of Listening, Reading and Writing skills combined with language knowledge (grammar, vocabulary) The practice of this skill must be closely coordinated with other skills and must be carried out step by step with appropriate activities so that after each lesson, students can apply it in specific communication situations To that, students must memorize words, belonging to sentence patterns The combination of textbooks and sentence patterns is necessary, but that is only the beginning Students must turn it into their own knowledge so that they can apply it anywhere and when Therefore, the teacher plays an important role in leading students to reach their goals The practice of speaking skills must be done regularly through lessons, but the main focus is during speaking hours In order to teach an hour of speaking practice with high results, like any other skill session, a teacher must conduct stages: * Pre-speaking (Before speaking) * While-speaking (While speaking) * Post- skeaking (After speaking) Each stage has different tasks and purposes, depending on the content and characteristics of each article, but at each stage I use different tactics, methods and forms of organization Here I just outline some of the following basic methods 2.3.1 Practice through classroom language According to the new textbook chapter incorporating new teaching methods, junior high school students are encouraged to use English as much as possible depending on the subject's level In the classroom, teachers need to provide students with opportunities to communicate in many ways: T- Whole class, T-S, S –S The teacher is the person who guides the children through conversation from simple situations of greetings to topic conversations For example:Beginning of the lesson: * Good morning How are you? * Did you have a nice weekend? * Have you done your homework? * Let’s play a game now, shall we? * Are you ready? participate in learning under the teacher's class In addition, teachers need to guide students to practice their English speaking skills in many forms such as practice in pairs, in groups, and talking Teachers need to have a positive attitude towards students' language errors, accept mistakes as an inevitable part of the foreign language learning process, and help students learn from their own mistakes and from friends and teachers should know how to encourage students with praise, mark or praise for other students to follow, should respect cooperative group learning Pay more attention to students' motivation and learning attitudes; help students properly assess the need of English for their future so that students can identify motivations and positive learning attitudes Do not put
