Date of preparing: 11/ 1/ 2018 Week 19 Period 35 UNIT LETTER U Lesson I Objectives: Knowledge: : - By the end of the lesson, students can be able to: - Recognize and pronounce the letter Uu and its sound correctly - Understand, recognize and say the three Uu words - Write the letter Uu Pronunciation: U,u /ju:/ * Vocabulary: Up, umbrella, ugly Skills: - Develop Ss reading, writing and listening skills Attitude: Educate Sts to love their lesson Work hard III TEACHING AIDS: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks II TEACHING METHODS: - Work in pairs , individual, in groups … IV PROCEDURE: Class organization: - Greeting: Good morning/ Good afternoon How are you? - Checking for the students’ attendence: Class Date of teaching Absent students 2A 15/1/ 2018 ………………………………………………… ………………………………………………… Warm up :7’ - Greet students * Activity: You’re Out - Hang some phonics cards from the previous unit in the four corners of the room (1 card/ corner) - Choose a student to stand in the middle of the classroom with his/ her eyes closed and count to ten while the other students run to the four corners - When the student in the middle counts to ten, he/ she shouts “STOP” and call a name of a phonics card in the four cards on the four corners - The students in that corner are ‘out’ and must sit down - Play three round with three different students in the middle The one can made the most students ‘out’ is the winner New lesson Teacher’s and students’ activities Content * Activity 1: 10’ – apply information technology * Activity: Listen, point - Show the students the up phonic card Point to it and and repeat Colour say: /u/ The students repeat - Then say /u/- up The students repeat - Point up to the ceiling and say: /u/- up Encourage the students to the same - Say the letter, the students perform the action and the word - Follow the same procedure: /u/- umbrella (mime holding an umbrella), /u/- ugly (make an ugly face) - Write the letter Uu on the board next to the phonics cards Point to it and say: “This is the letter /ju:/ The letter /ju:/ makes the /u/ sound The students repeat * Activity 2: 5’ * Activity: What is it? - Teacher holds up a phonics card, partly hidden by a sheet of paper - Slowly reveal the phonics cards The students try to guest what the phonics card is * Pupil’s book open (4') - Point to and elicit the sound of the letter and the words /u/- up, /u/- umbrella, /u/- ugly - Play the CD The students listen, point and repeat - The students color the letters Uu (explain that they can use any colors they like) - Teacher goes around the class and elicits the letter and the word from individual students Activity (5’) Production - Show the letter Uu again, have students write the Uu in air with their fingers Consolidation: (3’) What’s the content of the lesson? Homelink: (3’) Do exercises in the workbook Learn by heart the new words Comments: …………………………………………………………………………………………… …………………………………………………………………………………………… …………………………………………………………………………………………… Period 36 UNIT LETTER U Lesson I Objectives: Knowledge: Knowledge: - By the end of the lesson, students can be able to: - Recognize and pronounce the letter Uu and its sound correctly - Understand, recognize and say the three Uu words - Write the letter Uu Vocabulary * Vocabulary: Up, umbrella, ugly * Sight words: It, is, in, an Skills: - Develop Ss reading, writing and listening skills Attitude: Educate Sts to love their lesson Work hard III TEACHING AIDS: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks II TEACHING METHODS: - Work in pairs , individual, in groups … IV PROCEDURE: Class organization: - Greeting: Good morning/ Good afternoon How are you? - Checking for the students’ attendence: Class Date of teaching Absent students 2A 17/1/ 2018 ………………………………………………… ………………………………………………… Warm up :5’  Greet students  Have students sing the chant in lesson Unit (Track 42), keep the rhythm by clapping their hands or snapping their fingers New lesson Teacher’s and students’ activities Content * Activity 1: (10 mins) Act Listen and point - Point to the monster and say: It is up in an umbrella Colour The students repeat - Point to the monster again and say: It is ugly The student repeat - Play the CD The students listen and point - Ask the students to color the umbrella, using any color they like - Go around the classroom asking students to name the item they are coloring * Activity 2:(10 mins) Act Chant and show! - Put up the up, umbrella, ugly phonics cards on the Activity: Chant in group board - Point to the phonics cards and say: /u/- up, /u/umbrella, /u/- ugly The students repeat - Play the CD The students listen, follow in their books and chant - Ask the students to the actions of the words when they chant - Repeat the chant without the CD Keep the rhythm by clapping hands - Divide the class into groups (up, umbrella, ugly) Each group says the appropriate chant while the rest of the class claps - Ask each group to mime the corresponding action or show the corresponding phonics cards while they chant * Activity 3: (5 mins) Production - Chant with out book Consolidation: (3’) What’s the content of the lesson?
