Date of preparing: 28/5/2020 Week 27 Period 57 Unit 13: Letter M Lesson I Objectives: Knowledge By the end of the lesson, students can be able to:  Recognize and pronounce the letter Mm and its sound correctly  Understand, recognize and say the three Mm words  Write the letter Mm Vocabulary Moon, mouse, milk Sight words Can, you, see, the Skills: - Develop Ss speaking, reading and listening skills Attitude: Educate Sts to love their lesson Work hard II TEACHING AIDS: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks III TEACHING METHODS: - Work in pairs , individual, in groups … IV PROCEDURE: Class organization: - Greeting: Good morning/ Good afternoon How are you? - Checking for the students’ attendence: Class Date of teaching Absent Students 1A 03/06/2020 ……………………… Warm up :5’  Put the phonics cards from the previous lesson on the board  Below the cards, write the words without the beginning letters Ask some individuals come to the board and find the beginning letter to complete each word New lesson Teacher’s and students’ activities Content Act (10')  Use a card with letter Mm (or write on board the letter Mm) to introduce to the students the new lesson  Instruct students how to pronounce the letter name and Listen, point and repeat Colour the letter sound by saying: “This is the letter M /em/, the letter M says /m /.”  Repeat several times and check students’ pronunciation (letter M /em/ and its sound /m /)  Use the phonics cards with moon, mouse and milk, read the words out loud and have students repeat  Use gestures (hand actions) to help students to understand the meanings of the three words moon: imitate looking at the sky mouse: use hands to mime big ears while squeaking milk: imitate drinking  Stick the cards on board and have students repeat the words chorally several times (in the correct order and then in any order)  Call some students to say the words out loud and correct their mistakes (if any) Activity 2: (10')  Have students look at the book and listen to the Listen and expression: “Can you see the moon”, point Colour  Have students point to the objects when they hear  Have students listen and repeat the sentence for several times  Give feedback  Do the same procedure with the other words Colour  Ask students to colour the moon, mouse and milk using any colour they like  Go around the classroom, ask students to name the item they are colouring Sight words  Read the sight words : can, you, see, the  Ask students to listen and repeat Act (7') Chant and show! Act it out  Read the word and ask students to listen and the gestures for words moon, mouse and milk  Change role: teachers does the actions, students look and call out the words Chant and show  Use the phonics cards on the board and have students sing the chant with moon Do the same with mouse and milk  The whole class sings the whole chant Do the chant again using gestures for each word  Give feedback Consolidation: (3’) Homelink: (2’) Review the new words, model sentences Comments: ……………………………………………………………………………………… ……………………………………………………………………………………… ……………………………………………………………………………………… Period 58 Unit 13: Letter M Lesson I Objectives: Knowledge By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:  Recognize and say the three Mm words correctly  Do the corresponding actions  Read the story  Sing letter Mm song Vocabulary: Moon, mouse, milk Sight words: Can, you, see, the, on, with, some Skills: - Develop Ss speaking, reading and listening skills Attitude: Educate Sts to love their lesson Work hard II TEACHING AIDS: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks III TEACHING METHODS: - Work in pairs , individual, in groups … IV PROCEDURE: Class organization: - Greeting: Good morning/ Good afternoon How are you? - Checking for the students’ attendence: Class Date of teaching Absent Students 1A 05/06/2020 ……………………… …… Warm up :5’  Greet students  Show the phonics cards, ask students to corresponding actions then say the sound of the letter and words E.g Teacher: Show the ‘moon’ card Class: “moon", imitate looking at the sky Have students sing the chant in lesson 1, keep the rhythm by clapping their hands and gesturing New lesson Teacher’s and students’ activities Content Act 1.(15')  Encourage the students to point to the picture of the Listen And Read word that the teacher says Along  Play the CD Have the students listen to the story once  Play the CD again The students listen and point to the pictures of the key words when they hear them in the story  Read the story The students follow their books  Teacher reads the printed words then let the students look at the pictures and say the words  Ask students work in pairs One reads while the other checks, then they change roles Or one reads the printed words while the other looks at the pictures and says the words Activity: Say the Sight Words  Point to and say the sight words: can, you, see, the, on, with, some  Have students repeat  Have some students read them aloud  Give feedback Act 2(12')  Put up the moon, mouse and milk phonics cards on the board Song  Point to the mouse and say: “Mandy Mouse is on the moon!” The students repeat  Follow the same procedure and present the rest of the song  Play the CD The students listen and sing along  Play the CD again The students sing and corresponding actions Activity: Speed race  Put three chairs in front of the board  Divide class into three teams A, B, C  Have a student from each team stand up  Put a phonics card on each chair  Call out one of the phonics card  The students standing try to sit on the chair with the corresponding phonics card  The first student to sit on the chair wins a point for his/ her team  The team with the most points wins Consolidation: (2’) Homelink: (2’) Review the new words, model sentences Comments: ……………………………………………………………………………………… ……………………………………………………………………………………… ………………………………………………………………………………………
