Date of preparing: / 6/ 2020 Week 29 Period 66+67+68 REVISION 2+ Portfolio Activities - I OBJECTIVES: Knowledge: : To consolidate the sound of the letters Hh to Mm and the corresponding words Vocabulary Revision hat, hen, hippo, horse ink, igloo, iguana, insect jam, jelly, juice, jacket kite, kitten, koala, kangaroo lemon, lion, lollipop, lamp moon, mouse, milk, monkey Skills: - Develop Ss Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing skills Attitude: Educate Sts to love their lesson Work hard II TEACHING AIDS: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks III TEACHING METHODS: - Work in pairs , individual, in groups … IV PROCEDURE: Class organization: - Greeting: Good morning/ Good afternoon How are you? - Checking for the students’ attendence: Class Date of teaching Absent Students 1B Warm up :5’ Activity: Let’s chant  Play some chants from units 8-13 Encourage students to sing along and the corresponding action or hold up their picture cards New lesson Teacher’s and students’ activities Content * Activity 1: Look and put a tick (ü) or Activity 1: Hangman a cross (O)  Divide the class into two teams, team A and team B  Choose a word and write the appropriate number of spaces on the board  Ask two teams to take turn guessing a letter If a student guesses correctly, write that letter in the space and give the student another turn If a student guesses incorrectly, start drawing a hanging man and have a student from the other team guess a letter  The team guessing the word wins a point * Activity 2: Activity 2: Speed race  Puts three chairs in front of the board  Divide class into three teams  Have a student from each team stand up  Put the phonics cards on each chair  Call out one of the phonics card  The students standing try to be the first to sit on the chair with the corresponding phonics card  The first student to sit on the chair wins a point for his or her team  The team with the most points wins * Activity 3: Activity 3: What is it?  Teacher holds up a phonics card, partly hidden by a sheet of paper  Slowly reveal the phonics cards The students try to guest what the phonics card is * Activity 4: Activity 4: Thumbs up or down  Hold up the phonics cards one at a time to show to the students  Say the name of the item on the card (Teacher can say correctly or not) and ask the students to verify the word you say is correct or not by putting their thumbs up (correct) and down (incorrect)  Encourage the students to give the correct answer * Activity 1:  Elicit the letters and their sounds E.g letter I says /ɪ/  Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the sound and the name of the item E.g I - /ɪ/- ink  Ask the students to colour in the pictures  Tell the students that they can decorate the picture following what they like or write the words under each picture  Go around the classroom to provide any necessary help, ask individual students to say out the sound or the items then give out some comments or Match and write Listen and write the letters Then circle the right pictures Activity: Act It Out Colour the pictures that start with the /I/ sound compliments * Activity 2:Act Out  Elicit the letters and their sounds E.g letter J says /ʤ/  Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the sound and the name of the item E.g J- /ʤ/- jam  Ask the students to colour in the pictures  Tell the students that they can draw decorate the picture following what they like or write the words under each picture  Go around the classroom to provide any necessary help, ask individual students to say out the sound or the items then give out some comments or compliments * Activity 3:  Elicit the letters and their sounds E.g letter K says /k/  Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the sound and the name of the item E.g K- /k/- kite  Ask the students to colour in the pictures  Tell the students that they can draw decorate the picture following what they like or write the words under each picture  Go around the classroom to provide any necessary help, ask individual students to say out the sound or the items then give out some comments or compliments * Activity 4:  Elicit the letters and their sounds E.g letter L says /l/  Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the sound and the name of the item E.g L- /l/- lemon  Ask the students to colour in the pictures  Tell the students that they can draw decorate the picture following what they like or write the words under each picture  Go around the classroom to provide any necessary help, ask individual students to say out the sound or the items then give out some comments or compliments Colour the pictures that start with /ʤ/ sound Colour the pictures that start with /k/ sound Colour the pictures that start with /l/ sound * Activity 5: Colour the pictures that  Elicit the letters and their sounds start with /m/ sound E.g letterML says /m/  Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the sound and the name of the item E.g M- /m/- moon  Ask the students to colour in the pictures  Tell the students that they can draw decorate the picture following what they like or write the words under each picture  Go around the classroom to provide any necessary help, ask individual students to say out the sound or the items then give out some comments or compliments Consolidation: (3’) What’s the content of the lesson? Class: monkey! etc * Activity 5: Activity 5: Draw it  Divide the class into teams, A and B  Write on the board some words from units 8-13  In a limited time, the students quickly draw the pictures of those words  The team with more students finishes drawing wins  Go around the classroom and provide any necessary help  Tell the students that they can draw a heart next to the picture they like most  Go around the classroom to provide any necessary help, ask individual students to say out the sound or the items then give out some comments or compliments  Tell the students that they can draw a star next to the picture they think the best of all Consolidation: (3’) What’s the content of the lesson?
