WEEK 30 Date of preparing: 12/4/2019 PERIOD 59-60 Unit 13 – LeTTER Z LESSON 1-2 I AIMS: Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students can be able to:  Recognize and pronounce the letter Zz and its sound correctly  Understand, recognize and say the three Zz words  Write the letter Zz Vocabulary: Zoo, zebra, zip Sight words : Look, a, on, the Skills: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing skill 3.Attitude: Recognize and pronounce the letter Z and its sound (Requirements: students with disability can see and practise ) II TEACHING AIDS - Teacher’s:i-Learn My Phonics Grade , lesson plan, CD Phonics cards - Students’: Pupil’s Book –p.9 i-Learn My Phonics Grade 2, p.57 Activity book - p.60 II.TEACHING METHODS - Communicative approach - Techniques: + Ask and answer (say individually) + Work in pairs/ groups Discuss IV PROCEDURES:Time: 40mins Organization: (2mins ) - Greeting - Checking for the students' attendance Class Date of teaching Absent Student 2A 2B 2C 2E 2.Warm up:(5mins) Activity: Make up words  Put up the phonics cards from the previous unit on the board  Write the following letters on the board: g, t, y, r, e, o, c, a, l, w, u  Explain to the students that they have to make up words from the given letters  Ask them to write down the words they can make up  Tell the student to refer to the phonics cards for help  After a limited time, ask the students to say out the words they made up 3.Newlesson Teacher’s and Students’ activities Activity 1.Listen, point and repeat Colour Introduction of letter Z, its sound and how to pronounce the words beginning with Zz (6 mins)  Show the students the zoo phonic card Point to it and say: /z/ The students repeat  Then say /z /- zoo The students repeat  Mime the sounds of different animals and say: /z /- zoo Encourage the students to the same  Say the letter, the students perform the action and the word  Follow the same procedure: /z/- zebra (mime galloping), /z/- zip (mime zipping up)  Write the letter Zz on the board next to the phonics cards Point to it and say: “This is the letter /zed/ The letter /zed/ makes the /z / sound The students repeat both sounds Ask students with disability to say the words out loud Requirements: students with disability can see and practise Activity 2.Listen and point Colour: 6ms  Point to the zoo and say: Look! A zoo! The students repeat  Do the same procedure for zebra and zip  Play the CD The students listen and point  Say: Look! A zoo! Ask the students to point to the corresponding item in the picture  Repeat with the remaining item Look! A zebra! Look! A zip on the zebra!  Ask the students to colour the zebra and the zip  Go around the classroom ask the students Content 1.Listen, point and repeat Colour Zoo: sở thú Zebra: ngựa vằn Zip: khóa 2.Listen and point Colour Look! A zoo!  Look! A zebra!  Look! A zip on the zebra! to name the item they are colouring e.g Teacher: (pointing to the zebra) Look! A … Student 1: zebra! etc sk students with disability trace and colour the letter Requirements: students with disability can see and practise Activity 3: 6ms 3.Chant and show!  Put up the zoo, zebra and zip phonics cards on the board  Point to the phonics cards and say: /z /zoo, /z /- zebra, /z/- zip The students repeat  Play the CD The students listen, follow in their books and chant  Ask the students to take out their own zoo, zebra, zip picture cards and place them on their desks Play the CD again, ask them to listen and hold up the corresponding picture cards Repeat the chant without the CD Keep the rhythm Requirements: students with disability can see and sing Activity 4 Listen Read Along (6 mins)  Ask: Can you see the /z/- zoo? Point to it  Encourage the students to point to the picture of the word that the teacher says  Play the CD Have the students listen to the story once  Play the CD again The students listen and point to the pictures of the key words when they hear them in the story  Read the story The students follow in their books  Ask students work in pairs One reads 3.Chant and show! Z, zoo! Z, z, z, zoo! Zoo, z, z, z! Change: zebra and zip Listen Read Along This is a zoo This is a zebra in the zoo Look at the funny zebra with A zip in the zoo while the other checks, then they swap roles Or one reads the printed words while the other looks at the pictures and says the words  Go around the classroom to provide any necessary help Ask students with disability point and repeat Activity 5 Song : 6ms  Put up the zoo, zebra, zip phonics cards up on the board  Point to the zoo and zebra phonics card and say: This is a zebra in the zoo The students repeat  Follow the same procedure and present the rest of the song  Play the CD The students listen and sing along  Play the CD again, ask the students to take out their own zoo, zebra, zip picture cards and place them on their desks Play the CD again The students listen and hold up the corresponding picture cards  Song This is a zebra in the zoo Look at the funny zebra in the zoo! This is a zebra in the zoo Look at the funny zebra !
