WEEK 17 Date of preparing: 28 /12/2019 PERIOD 65 UNIT 10: WHEN WILL SPORTS DAY BE? LESSON 3- ( PART 4-5-6 ) I.AIMS Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to - Read and tick, write about Sports Day - Develop Ss writing skills - Develop Ss writing and reading skills * Language contents: Vocabulary: Review Word stress: Review Skills: Develop Ss reading and writing skills 3.Attitude: -In this lesson, studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends II.TEACHING AIDS Teacher’s: English book , lesson plan, pictures, word cards, CD, cassette , softbook Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks III.TEACHING METHODS -Communicative approach -Techniques:+ Ask and answer (say individually) + Work in pairs/ groups Discuss IV.PROCEDURES : Time: 40’ Organization: (2’ ) - Greeting - Checking for the students' attendance Class 5A 5B 5C 5D Date of teaching 2.Warm up:5’ Have Ss chant “What are they going to do?” 3.Newlesson Teacher’s and Students’ activities Activity 4: Read and tick: 10’ Tell the class that the they are going to read and Absent Student Content Read and tick tick in a table following the students according to the passage - Give them a few seconds to read the passage Remind them to focus on the text and the words in the passage Then tick in correct column - Set a time limit for pupils to the task independently Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary - Get pupils to compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class if there is enough time, have the class read the completed answer aloud Activity 5: Write about Sports Day (10') Individual work Ask Ss to fill in the space with the appropriate information before copying into a clean sheet of paper for the class display followed later - Set the time for Ss to write independently - Monitor the activity and offer help as necessary - Call out some Ss to read their writing to the class and have the class display after that Answer: 1,on Saturday - Get a few Ss to read aloud their writing to the class Finally, have a class display of Ss’ works Activity 6: Project (6') Draw three sports and talk about them - Tell Ss that they are going to draw sports and then talk about them - Get Ss to prepare necesseary school things to carry out the project ( paper, pens, colured pencils, crayons ) - T move around to give the help if neccessary - Call several individuals to the front of the class to present their pictures For example; It is+ (sport) I like playing It is very exciting Mai Nam Phong linda Tony Peter Tom 5.Write about Sports Day Sports day is going to be Some of the boys are going to Some of the girls are going to Project : What are they going to do?
