WEEK 29 Date of preparing: 6/4/2019 PERIOD 57-58 Unit 12 – LeTTER Y LESSON 3-4 I AIMS: Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:  Read and say the three Yy words correctly  Recognize and say an extra Yy word correctly Skills: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing skill 3.Attitude: Recognize and pronounce the letter Y and its sound (Requirements: students with disability can see and practise ) II TEACHING AIDS - Teacher’s:i-Learn My Phonics Grade , lesson plan, CD Phonics cards - Students’: Pupil’s Book –p.9 i-Learn My Phonics Grade 2, p.57 Activity book II.TEACHING METHODS - Communicative approach - Techniques: + Ask and answer (say individually) + Work in pairs/ groups Discuss IV PROCEDURES:Time: 40mins Organization: (2mins ) - Greeting - Checking for the students' attendance Class Date of teaching Absent Student 2A 2B 2C 2E 2.Warm up:(5mins)  Have the students listen to the chant in lesson Unit 12 (Track 76) Have the students sing and act to the chant/ show the corresponding picture cards 3.Newlesson Teacher’s and Students’ activities Content Activity Find and colour the Yy letter (5 mins) Find and colour the Yy letter  Point to the letters and elicit their names Y to colour and sounds  Explain the activity  Ask the students to find and colour the Yy Paint yellow letters  Go around the classroom providing any necessary help  Ask the student to name the item  Allow them to colour the rest letters with other colours ●Ask students with disability listen and cicrle Requirements: students with disability can see and practise Activity 7 Listen, point and repeat Colour the pictures of the words that start with the x sound Say the x words (Track 79) (5 mins) Show the students the yogurt phonics card Point to it and say: /j/ - yogurt Ask them to repeat  Mime eating yogurt and say: /j/ - yogurt Encourage the students to the same  Say the letter The students perform the action and say the letter and the word (if they can)  Play the CD The students listen, point to and repeat the word .Ask students with disability point to it and say Colour  Activity book: Revision & Practice 1.Trace and say (Page 28 – Activity Book) (5mins)  Write on the board the capital letter Y (write slowly to demonstrate its formation)  Point to it and elicit the sound /j/  Show the formation in the air (taking care when facing to the students that the letter is formed the correct way for them) Listen, point and repeat Colour the pictures of the words that start with the v sound Say the w words Yogurt: sữa chua 1.Trace and say (Page 28 – Activity Y Y Y Y Y y y y  Repeat with the small letter y  The students trace the letters in their activity books Go around and provide any necessary help Ask the students to say the sound of the letter Ask students with disability take part in Requirements: students with disability can see and practise Activity 2.Trace and match (page 28 – Activity Book) (5’)  Explain the activity First, the students trace the letters in the boxes Then draw lines from the letters to the corresponding pictures  Check around the classroom Answer keys: Vv- vase Ww- window Xx- ox Yy- yellow Ask students with disability take part in Requirements: students with disability can see and practise 2.Trace and match (page 28 – Activity Book) V x Y v W w X y Activity 3.Say the words Circle the correct letter (Page 29 – Activity Book) (5 mins)  Explain the activity 3.Say the words Circle the  Point to the pictures and elicit their names correct letter  Ask the students to look at the pictures, say the word and circle the letter their Yellow violet van names begin with yacht ox Go around and provide any necessary help Olive Ask students with disability take part in Requirements: students with disability can see and Write Taxi watch well Activity 4.Say the sounds Colour the right shapes (page 29 – Activity book) (5 mins)  Explain the activity  Point to the letters and say the sounds 4.Say the sounds Colour the  Point to the pictures and elicit their names right shapes  Ask the students to colour the shape that corresponds to the initial letter of each item any colour they like  Go around the classroom and provide any necessary help Ask students with disability take part in Requirements: students with disability can see and practise 4.Consolidation: (1min) - In this lesson, pupils have learnt: recognize and say the Xx word Homework:( 2mins) - Prepare next lesson Evaluation ………………………………………………………………………………………… ………………………………………………………………………………………… …………………………………………………
