Period 78 - Unit 12: MUSIC Lesson : Language focus I OBJECTIVES

1.Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Know how to pronounce correctly the sound /s/ - /z/ - Understand the usage of to + infinitive

- Master the form and usage of structure Wh-questions appropriately 2.Skills: After the lesson, students will be able to:

- Distinguish the sounds: /s/ & /z/

- Distinguish grammar and structures: to + infinitive Wh-question - Improve other skills: speaking, listening and reading 3 Attitude:

- Students work effectively and enthusiastically in the classroom activities - Students will more interested in pronouncing the sound /s/ and /z/ and doing exercises about the structures: to + ininitive and Wh-questions

I.Warm up (5 minutes)

- Ask to students to look at the picture in projector, give name of pictures and read them

- Divide into groups and ask students to have a student of every group go to the board and write some words that they listen from teacher and write down The group which write with more and more words, will be the winner

- Work invidually and give the answers

- Do teacher’s requirement -Try to listen to give the correct answers

II.Pronunciation (16 minutes)

- Introduce the sound /s/

-Read aloud and ask students to repeat

- Describe how to make the sound /s/

‘s’ is often pronounced /z/ when it

-Read these words and require all class to look at the textbook and read aloud

- Ask students about remembering the use of to + infinitive
