the Heiken Ashi Day Trader My real name is Oscar I'm here to introduce the first of many books dealing with the subject of price action trading using heiken ashi I've been trading for a little over 10 years and about years I started utilizing and refining my price action systems with heiken ashi candles to remove the noise of wild looking Japanese candlesticks that may give off false information The only sure way anyone can make money in a deregulated market like the currency market is to use the only leading indicator that can give you a vast world of information for trends ending or beginning, breakouts, and consolidating movements or reversals That leading indicator is Price Action Maneuver away from traditional Japanese candlestick trading and insert Heiken Ashi candles instead and you can make consistent profits I want to explain what this book isn't and what this book is This book is not the definitive guide to trading Nor does it possess the unattainable holy grail It does require that you the trader use your chart time looking for price action rather than doodling your screen with colorful indicators that fail to make you money This book holds simple as a golden rule I will not prod into the inner workings of the forex market as this book is meant for traders familiar with trading currencies I will briefly lay out Price Action within Heiken Ashi candles This book will be followed by other books on Heiken Ashi Price Action and the myriad ways of making money in this market place I find that learning one thing at a time to be easier than reading a 300 page book about grandiose claims of fake traders This book is going to kick off real trading for real traders and it needs to be simple for the sake of making money What is Heiken Ashi Heiken Ashi candlesticks are another clever invention from the minds of Japanese traders Translated from Japanese, Heiken Ashi means ‘average bar’ They are the result of applying some average math directly to the candlestick structure One main goal of Heiken Ashi candlesticks is to eliminate noise on the chart This is achieved through the way the Heiken Ashi charts are built through the equation The formula for their construction is designed to creates a smoothing effect – filtering out the irrelevant moves, while maintaining the display of the dominant price action Heiken Ashi candlesticks requires data from the previous HA candle, meaning they essentially build off one another It is this chaining effect that gives a really unique view into the market The classic candlestick we’re all used to has a high, low, open, and close price These figures are taken directly from the raw price action Heiken Ashi candles have the same data points, but they each have some unique math behind them – which is important to understand if you’re going to use them High Price = highest price out of the current candle’s high, open, or close price Low Price = lowest price out of the current candles’s low, open, or close price Close Price = (open + high + low + close) / Open price = previous candle (open + close) / Eight Powerful Candlestick Patterns The following examples are meant to be used as a guideline for searching for these specific patterns in your charts These are examples only and by example you as traders need to rely on your own eyes to find them Believe me when I say it's simple as pie because you won't struggle once you see what I see Observe these Heiken Ashi Candlestick Patterns and find them in your own charts and read the price action as it unfolds Final Thoughts Use this simple guide to finding these simple but powerful patterns without the noise of Japanese candlesticks There will be more lessons and books to come as I have broken down Heiken Ashi trading into a simple formula Good luck and until next time keep it simple and make pips simply with Heiken Ashi ... this book is meant for traders familiar with trading currencies I will briefly lay out Price
